There’s nothing wrong with renting. It still provides a basic human need: Shelter. Plus people are mobile and maybe want to live in an area for a couple of years to check it out before deciding to stay and buy a home or move.

Oh, there’s nothing wrong with it but it should be
kept to a minimum and only as long as you can move
with one pick up load.

I don’t know how true it is in these crazy times. But I read somewhere that renting was a zero-sum game. You lose by not building equity. But you gain by not having to pay taxes and for repairs. Put that extra money in a good investment account and you’ll break even, roughly.
