Ipsos Poll: Six in 10 Want Trump as 2024 GOP Nominee

Roughly six in 10 Republicans responding to a new poll believe that former President Donald Trump should be their party's presidential nominee in 2024.

The poll, conducted by USA Today/Ipsos, found that 59% of Republicans want Trump as their nominee in 2024, compared to 41% who want someone else representing the party.

Conversely, 44% of Democrat respondents say President Joe Biden "deserves reelection," while 56% said it's "time for a change" regarding who represents them in 2024.

"Republican voters in this poll tell us they clearly want a fighter in 2024, and they see Trump as their champion," Ipsos President Cliff Young said, according to USA Today. "On the other hand, Democrats want someone who is both a fighter and a unifier. Right now, Biden falls short on meeting these two dueling ideals."

At one point, the poll asked Republicans to list "positive traits" of Trump: 90% said Trump's willingness to use all tools at his disposal was a positive, 87% said he fights for his constituents and 86% said he fights against woke politics and cancel culture.

When Democrats were asked to list "important traits" of Biden: 92% said he had significant experience in government, 86% said he had "major policy knowledge and expertise," 85% believe he is "focused" on bringing the country together, and 83% said he fights for his constituents.

"In some ways, I think he's doing the best he can with the mess that Trump left behind," said Aaron Shissler, a 36-year-old left-leaning independent voter from Pocatello, Idaho. "But in other ways, I just don't think he does enough. I think he takes a lot of half-measures."

While some Democrats believe Biden is doing the best he can, some Republicans want a leader with a strong sense of conviction.

“I can’t understand anyone who wants Biden reelected.”
Unfortunately, you are far from alone, which goes a long way to defining the problem with our country. As the Late Great Rush Limbaugh lamented for Decades, far too few people realize the extent to which our country is in Jeopardy. Too few realize the number of people in this country that hate our Constitution and everything it stands for.
Too Few people understand how many care only for their personal self-interests and how they can use the Bloated Government to their personal advantage.
Too few realize that this includes many many Lifelong career Republican Politicians.
And, finally, too few realize that ALL of those people view Donald Trump and his supporters as a far more significant threat than any external enemy.

If six out of ten want Trump I've been told we will lose our democracy if those six out of ten vote. Really. That's what every news media outlet is saying.

Yeah...energy independent America, strong jobs growth, low unemployment, no inflation, southern border under control, dictators all over the world quiet, China being tamed, NATO countries finally ponying up their defense shares, no new wars.

Such a mess!

Does anybody ever ask these lamebrains "what mess did Trump leave behind?"

I am thoroughly ashamed that this guy lives in Idaho. He should move to Massachusetts, Illinois, California or Oregon.

USA Today poll.

One of the most inaccurate, and that’s saying something.

Thank our universities today that have reached a zenith in indoctrination. There's a hell of a lot of them now. You may have seen them the day after Trumps 2017 inauguration:

Aaron claims to be an “independent” which means that the Democrat party is too moderate for him. Since there is no communist party choice, he grudgingly votes D as it’s the most leftist thing available. Look below at his info. He has all the background of a lefty, including the worthless English lit degree.

Yeah - what we need are diversity, 'wokeness' and 10,000 pronouns.
Not a vibrant economy, a strong national defense and individual liberty.

C'mon, get with the program dudes!
Oh, Sorry - What the proper WOKE pronoun for 'Dudes'?

'Duses'?
'Hudes'?
'Dregs' maybe...

He sounds as useful as a bucket of warm spit, doesn’t he?

He probably snagged $20k from Joe (i.e., all of us) this week, too.

6 in 10 pubbies won’t get Trump re-elected. My biggest fear is that Trump get the GOP nomination and runs against a pinhead like Gavin Newsom. Newsom will likely win and we’re all screwed.

A "left-leaning independent" who can't see anything good in Trump and thinks Biden doesn't go far enough in wrecking the economy and dividing the country. No bias there! /s

I want Biden re-nominated. In two years he will be so far gone it will be far beyond the joke he’s been since before 2020 (well he was a joke even before he went senile) that every independent will vote Republican.

But as punishment for his corruption Biden needs to twist in the wind as he withers away in a fog of dementia.

As far as Republicans go, Trump or DeSantis are both fine by me, and if one runs the other won’t. Both would stomp the demented pervert into the ground.

Biden steals money from all Americans so he can
‘redistribute it’ to his base and donors. That’s why they want him - greed. Pure greed.

So, what is the percentage, Mr. Doom and Gloom, that President Trump needs?

can you name the percentage historically that is needed for a GOP Candidate needs to win?

If we cannot put the best President of my lifetime back in office, then no Republican can win.
