Donald Trump came down the escalator in Trump Tower in June of 2015 and announced he was running for president. Beltway conservatives laughed, but little did they know that the joke was on them. By the time they realized what was happening — that they'd lost touch with the people — it was too late.
*snip*
It was the establishment GOP that hated Trump first and hated him the hardest. He's "uniquely unsuited to office" because he takes the totality of the Washington swamp — and all its networks of power — and renders them useless. That's why Trump is so "dangerous" and is a threat to so many powerful people. This threat rose exponentially, of course, when he toppled "Crooked Hillary" and the Clinton Crime Syndicate. Together, the Bushes and the Clintons and all the Beltway swamp creatures, both Republican and Democrat, and all their media allies have done everything possible to disrupt Trump, stop him, smear him, take him down. Russia collusion, quid pro quo, January 6 — all of these sensationalized, theatrical, and mostly unfounded allegations have been used to get rid of an outsider who defies their rules and power structures.
*snip*
The only valid argument against Trump is that he can't win, that the fix is in, that the swamp was caught off guard in 2016 and that this won't happen again, ever. Does this mean conservatives should just give up and let the swamp win? No, it does not. The fight must go on. What the swamp is doing to Trump will ultimately be done to DeSantis or Cruz, or any other conservative who dares follow Trump's lead.

A Trump-DeSantis ticket would usher in 12 years of righteous leadership that would drive the Rats overboard.
All the reasons cited are true but I’ll add a few more:
- The RINO Establishment hates Trump because he showed the voters what frauds they really were. He actually did the things he said he was going to do - showing that yes it very much IS possible and that RINOs had been lying all this time and simply did not WANT to do what they promised us they would come every election season.
- Trump must be re-elected because the entire corrupt Deep State, Corporate Media and Big Tech need to be shown who is boss....ie not them. They NEED 4 more years of Trump rammed down their throats. Corrupt deep state bureaucrats and military officers NEED to get fired by Trump. Corrupt deep state organizations like the FIB NEED to be abolished by Trump so that everybody sees it is the people who are sovereign, not the unelected bureaucrats or the Democrat propagandists in the Corporate Media or in Big Tech. Re-electing Trump would be the healthiest thing for democratic (not Democrat) rule in the US.
The Swamp probably could have beaten Trump in 2016 if they hadn’t underestimated him as a “clown.” They waited way too late to release the “pussy tape,” which they had been sitting on since 2005. I think that tape would have torpedoed Trump’s nomination if they had outed it during the primaries. Trump would have been another Gary Hart, for those who remember the 1988 Democrat primaries.
“They waited way too late to release the “pussy tape,” which they had been sitting on since 2005.”
Oh yeah, that sure would have stopped him and all of his good common sense conservative ideas. Wrong. It probably would have been a resume enhancer.
“Re-electing Trump would be the healthiest thing for democratic (not Democrat) rule in the US.”
Everything you said in your comment is correct and excellent analysis. My one small quibble is that we are a Republic, not a Democracy.
That’s why Trump is so “dangerous” and is a threat to so many powerful people.

The elites is commonly label this a “threat to our democracy”, meaning “threat to our power”.
Many Republicans would have been afraid to nominate Trump if the “pussy tape” had come out a year earlier. They would have considered the Donald “unelectable.” The religious right “holy rollers” would have rejected Trump as “immoral” and switched their votes to Cruz. The resulting split in the conservative vote probably would have handed the nomination to “Bush III.”
A possible outcome but conjecture. I respectfully disagree. I think Trump was an unstoppable force in the right place at the right time, but we both will never know. He won; that we know.
Yes, We are not a democracy so Democrats saying something is a threat to “our democracy” is laughable. These people never had civics. We have a democratic system but it is not a Democracy, it is a Republic.
2020 has got to be fixed or there is no 2022 or 2024.
I like DeSantis. I can’t wait to vote for him in 2028. But to those insisting that Trump has too much baggage, I will remind you all that “DeSantis is literally Hitler”, and his baggage will be discovered - or invented out of whole cloth - just as it was against Trump.
IMO-—TRUMP WAS/IS UNIQUELY SUITED FOR OFFICE.
ANY government is like a very large business-—with lots of income & expenses.
A strong businessman is what we needed & Donald proved that.
Perfectly Stated.👍
I’d rather see Trump/Somone else and let DeSantis remain for his full term to teach other Governors how to be Governor, then “somebody Else” resigns and Trump appoints DeSantis as VP.
But that’s just me
We badly need to win in 2024. If we lose, I fear the country as we know it is gone. So the only question we should be asking is who gives us the best chance of winning. Personally, I don’t think it is Trump.
The Marxists aren’t dumb when it comes strategies to move their agenda forward. Many think that they are going after Trump from all sides because they want to stop him from running. They know they can’t stop him from running. I think their bottom line is that they want to run against Trump again. But they want to keep the drama around Trump going and bruise him up as much as possible leading up to the election. Unfortunately, Trump too often plays into their hands.
We don't 'win' with RINOs.
The person who wins also has to have enough intestinal fortitude to take on the entire Deep State. Except for Ron DeSantis, who might that be?
Not just conservatives - our nation - the entire world badly needs Trump back in office for three reasons:
1) His common sense America First policies. Remember, what that really means is a lesson for all nations - not just America. It means a nation’s government should put its own citizens first.
2) His unique ability to start draining the swamp and battle the Left’s fake news monopoly. The world needs leaders who fearlessly tell the truth no matter what the cost - there might be others on the horizon, but President Trump is the only one that has already proven it.
3) His symbolic value in the fight against the Deep State. Only his return to the White House will vindicate him and our self-governing Constitutional Republic, and declare victory over the permanent bureaucracy - which for a century has crippled the nation and which for six years has sought to destroy a duly elected President, through fake impeachments and stolen elections.
