'He was toxic': Jared Kushner calls Steve Bannon 'a suicide bomber' and says the 'power got to his head' during his White House tenure as he promotes new book
Daily Mail ^ | August 27, 2022 | Stephen M. Lepore

Presidential son-in-law and former presidential advisor Jared Kushner spoke out about his often troubled relationship with ex-chief strategist Steve Bannon, whom he likened to a 'suicide bomber.'

Kushner, speaking on The Hugh Hewitt Show Friday, said that Bannon 'blew up' before father-in-law President Donald Trump fired the former Breitbart chief in 2017, according to Mediaite.

He said: 'Steve really defeated himself, you know. His head got so big he was just doing all these crazy things, and the ultimately just you know, like a suicide bomber, blew up'.

The former White House senior advisor, 41, referred to Bannon as a 'cancer' and a 'malignant' figure in his new book, Breaking History, which he spent much of the interview promoting.

Kushner told the president in an excerpt obtained by DailyMail.com that despite their feud, he didn't oppose a presidential pardon for Bannon, who had been charged with a fraud scheme related to an effort to raise private funds to build the border wall.

'Steve was incredibly destructive to your first year in office, but he was there for you on the first campaign when few were,' Kushner told the president, he writes. ...

Kushner believes it stems from Bannon's early support for his father-in-law: 'I think if you look at Steve … Steve was actually with us very early. He was great on the campaign. He was a great partner when it got to the White House. I think maybe the power got to his head a little bit or he just – it was being more of what he was.'

The Affinity Partners founder added that Bannon was 'undermining us, knife-fighting with colleagues and it just wasn't helping us implement the agenda.'

Bannon is very black and white, and while that is great for ideas, it ends up alienating many of the exact people you need to implement those ideas. So you end up being right, but not succeeding. You then angrily blame everyone who stopped you from succeeding. Being doesn't matter if you ultimately fail in obtaining the objective.

This gets back to Trumps major flaw. He has no idea who his friends really are and that may doom his second term. The will stand behind him and subvert anything he tries.

Kushner will probably be back to reprise his role of administration swamp cheerleader and swamp job placement specialist.

It's being reported that Jared and Ivanka have said they'll have nothing to do with any further political ambitions that Trump may have.

They probably want to get back into the good graces of the Manhattan Socialite club that they were once a part of.

Bannon is a Rock Star and this Metrosexual douche is jealous of his followers. I was at CPAC Dallas and he was the main attraction next to Trump. Bannon’s War Room is number one must watch in this house because he has the best guests and the best straight news.

Bannon dared to resist the flood of Kushner and Pence fools brought in to co-opt Trump into following the GOP line. WHen Bannon was in charge, Trump won. When Kushner ran the campaign, he lost.

When America was fighting for it’s life over fake impeachments, covid etc, that jackass was eyeballs deep in Abraham accords.

He’s a snake and his wife is an airhead.

Now that is goooood!

But Ivanka is the apple of DJT’s eye, she really loves her dad, so I give JaRED a pass. He’s just not publicly important. Don’t think Steve will give him a micron of time.

I’d just say to DJT “we all have a Jared around us, so no biggie”, but then I’d ask 45, “Do we really have to buy his book, whatever it is?”

Buying Kushnikov’s book is like giving a toddler a gold star for a first coloring page.

If Kushner was not married to Trump’s daughter then Trump would have dumped him a long time ago.

“ Bannon is a loose cannon and i find most of it appealing, but having the clown who wrote Fire and Fury basically camped out in his office was petty and unbecoming. He needs to stick with his path now and do his own thing.

That was a dealbreaker for me and I’ll never trust him again

So is Kushner saying the power didn’t go to HIS head? (I think it did.)

And his pocketbook, too? I need to do some more research, but Jared Kushner's Saudi deal smells fishy.

The Kushner v Bannon feud is something to be expected. This is what happens when Trump surrounds himself with achievers. Before people go off half cocked about Kushner, understand that he was instrumental in achieving the Abraham Accords. Kushner did that with very little State Department involvement. Likewise, Bannon is an achiever. He turned the Trump campaign around in 2016. His ideas are pure MAGA and he is relentless.

I certainly don’t want pussies that cave to RINOs and the establishment. I want men of competence and achievement. Ambition goes along with that. That’s difficult to manage and keep together. It should be expected that there is infighting and fallout. To this day, Bannon and Kushner remain loyal to Trump. That’s a hell of a lot better than a lot of the turncoats that were part of the Trump administration.

“Jared Kushner’s Saudi deal smells fishy.”

He is the son of his scam-artist jailbird, father.

Amen.

Navarro says that Javanka spent all day in the West Wing, and when they didn’t get their way, they spent all evening in the East Wing whining and pleading to Trump and Melania.

Rings true to me.

The unfortunate reality is Trump still hasn’t been wisened up about this guy. Kushner will probably be back to reprise his role of administration swamp cheerleader and swamp job placement specialist.

One reason to support DeSantis over Trump. I'd vote for either in the general, but I prefer DeSantis at this point.

Kushner is no match for the brilliant, if not mercurial, Mr Bannon. No Bannon, no Trump presidency.

Ivanka is Trump's Achille's heel. Many great men throughout history have been corrupted by their love for a woman, beginning with Adam.

The lesson of the Garden is, listen to God, not to your wife (or daughter).
