There is propaganda on both sides but you would have to be an idiot to assert that Putin’s war is going well for him. There was no difficulty in predicting how this would go for him, none. Just read a little history. Time is not on Putin’s side and in a war of aggression it must be if you seek victory.

3. Standard military doctrine is a 3-to-1 ratio of attacker versus defender, especially an entrenched defender (see Europe's West Wall, 1944).
Russia's doctrine in this Special Military Operation is a 1-to-3 ratio - a complete reversal of accepted doctrine. Ponder that for a while.
