The Union deaths were on the order of 360,000. The Rebel 260,000 were fighting to KEEP the slaves.

The vast majority of the Confederate Army did not own slaves. They fought for state’s rights, and because their new nation had been invaded. According to your logic, the Union soldiers that came from states that had slaves (yes, there were slaves in some of the Union states) were fighting to keep the slaves as well. What irony!
