Loan forgiveness should be reported as income for income tax purposes.

Loan forgiveness should be reported to the credit agencies so that lenders know who the dead beat are.

For each major, the percentage of outstanding loans forgiven should be reported to Congress and the public.

In the future:

- loans should not be given to students majoring in subjects that have no economic benefit sufficient to allow students to pay back the loans,

- loans should not be given to students in the bottom quartile of students in their major, and

- colleges should be required to flunk out the bottom 10% at the end of the freshman year since these students are unlikely to be successful in their chosen fields.

Oh he had an answer to college increase. He blamed the states for cutting funding. I can’t stand him. His story is ridiculous. No way is a dad going to cry to his son about college especially while pacing back and forth in 1959. He must think we’re idiots. He and Jill will laugh their butts off over dinner regaling that crap story.

Does Biden realize that the system became "broken" when the Obama/Biden administration took student-loans away from the banks and made the federal government the loan-makers?

That’s what I have been wondering. Doesn’t the House of Representatives initiate budgetary items and spending? How does one person just make a decree like this?

Grad degree loans are not federal.

I don’t disagree with your sentiment….just want to clarify the detail.

Doocey shouts out, did you have advance notice of the Trump raid - Biden said he had zero notice. Meaning, tell me after the raid.

It is so frustrating. Had trump did anything two months before an election, they’d be screaming bloody murder. He sees his support down with 18-34 year olds so this is payment to vote in November. We are screwed! Sometimes I wish I was one of those ignorant political people who don’t know a thing that goes on.

Marxism. This is the last thing America needs. Biden also wants universal child care. These eff’n Marxists want to start indoctrination of children on the back of the productive.

Hard working blue collar workers need to join with MAGA and defeat these Marxists. They go down now and we never let them up.

46 million people, 95% of them getting forgiveness, with a forgiven payment sweeping into the economy…all at once….

But this won’t impact inflation at all. Nope…not even a little bit.

//obvious sarcasm

Flat out socialism.

Basically they are working to recruit people to government rather than the private sector by giving those people massive loan breaks. Totally unfair to people who go into the private sector and reduces the talent pool. They clearly are moving towards a socialist big big government society. My question, if this is not legislation and the authority is granted thru the department of education, can the next president rescind it?

Weird now nobody in the "press" is pressing him on this.

I quit after a semester because gaming weighted averages was easy in high school.
Did great in classes with weighed average. Not the ones that didn’t.
Went to local trade school for a 2 year heavy mechanics degree.
Best decision of my life in a work regard.
Problem is these “councilors” at high schools look down on trades, and pretty much tell parents “if your kid does not go to college, you’re a failed parent.”
