Dont know how old you are but, that whole thing started back in the mid to late 70s.

Remember the add from Jeep where after they run around with a CJ the dumb broad goes..”OH that was fun” after a 4X4 run?

The only ones that had pick ups or 4X4 pick ups before that were working people who used them for their business.

The worst vehicle anyone can buy is a 4X4 pickup for simple cruising around it.
This country needs a severe depression.

And in other Ford news, there was a jury verdict on Friday against Ford of $1.7 billion in a fatal rollover crash of a 2002 F-250.

Due to POOR design. American auto makers produce a horrible product that makes them money.

As I witnessed Saturday, Ford Dealers in Southern California are marking up ALL new vehicles $20,000 over MSRP. The markup is not even mentioned on their websites. Not just on EV’s or Hybrids. Every single model. And even if it is only a $22,000 base model.

I live in the midwest. The mark up price seems to be around $5k for lower end vehicles. The last couple of times I've had my car serviced at a dealer there were additional stickers on new cars giving the markup price. There weren't many additional markup prices posted on high end vehicles..

The problem with these kinds of layoffs is that usually it is the older white collar workers who have the most corporate knowledge will leave first.

That means those that remain, will not fully understand why things where designed the way they were, why things were operated the way they were, or how the company successfully handled certain kinds of problems in the past.

Those that done learn the lessons of history are condemned to repeat them. Companies that fire the keepers of corporate history, are condemned to have to perform trial and error experiments before they relearn the hard corporate lessons of history.

It is what the people voted for in 2020. Lying Joe Biden is so popular with the voters that he got 20 million more votes than obama. And if he had needed them , he could have gotten 100 million more.

It represents about 9.6% of the workforce of 31,000

6% would be only 1860 workers.

He has the F-150 for the look and not at all for the functionality and practibility.

Sounds like a couple of my neighbors. One across the street bought an F-150 this year with lots of options, told me he always wanted a truck. He cleans it every weekend, but rarely uses it. He worked in a desk job before retiring and always hired people to work on his house and mow his lawn.

Another neighbor 3 doors down the block bought an F-150 a couple years ago. Same thing, all tricked out but rarely uses it, and never to haul anything. And he has a handicapped placard on it, claiming bad knees. Imagine a jacked up truck in a handicapped spot. Has no problem walking his dog around the neighborhood every day. And he parks it half over the sidewalk because he doesn't want it scratched. I told him he's rude and to stop parking on the sidewalk, and he stopped doing that.

A 3rd neighbor a couple doors down has an F-150 but is always hauling lumber, concrete and rocks for his projects, same as I do with my truck for yard projects. Two sane truck owners. The others are idiots.

Ford is doomed to go out of business, same as GM. Regular people want to pay as little as possible for buying a vehicle. That's why folks started buying Japanese cars in the 1970's. A couple decades later they started buying Korean cars. And now they'll be buying Chinese cars. These dealers are killing off American car companies.

And have it last at least 200,000 miles or 20 years without expensive repairs because the car is garbage.

So, you’re a liberal. No one but a liberal thinks that way.

And have it last at least 200,000 miles or 20 years without expensive repairs because the car is garbage.

22 years ago I bought a Nissan Frontier truck. At the same time, my brother-in-law bought a Ford Ranger truck. My Nissan has never required any repairs, and the drivetrain runs as good as new - all I did was regular oil changes. My b-i-l's Ford has required many expensive repairs over the years, requiring rebuild of the engine, transmission, chassis components, etc., for many thousands of dollars - repairs cost more than what he initially paid for the truck. He initially paid what I paid for my truck, but it has less features than mine (electric windows, super-charger, tow hitch, etc.)

The last couple weeks I lent out my Nissan truck to my son-in-law visiting from out of state and he put many hundreds of miles on it, commenting it drove like brand new, not bad for a 22-year-old vehicle.

If your Nissan can do that, then why can’t they all? Because they all should.

What a rude response! How am I a busybody when I don't get into anyone else's business, except for good reason? But you get into mine, are you a Karen? I told my neighbor down the street to stop parking on the sidewalk, because his next-door neighbor is 94 and uses a walker when her assistant walks her up and down the block. She had to go around his F-150 truck into the street. The neighbor apologized to me and stopped parking over the sidewalk - don't know if he apologized to his elderly neighbor. And my other neighbors are all in agreement with me, that guy was rude. I get along good with both of them, we've been neighbors for over 30 years. I think you need to focus on responsible posting rather than being rude.

Here it comes. When the middle-managers start to take the hit, maybe they will admit we are in a recession.
