Yet “fraternal” Ukrainian generals are happily blowing up Russian generals countless times. That somehow doesn’t fit in your fantastical “coup” calculations. You repeat gaslighting fairy tales about Poland annexing Ukraine. That’s not happening either. Instead, the reality is Poland has been Ukraine’s greatest supporter.

Russia has lost “brother” Ukraine forever due to Putin’s insane war and genocide in Ukraine. You need to accept that fact because there’s no going home from here.

There is no requirement for Ukraine to continue to exist in any post-coup peace arrangements. There is no losing a brother country if you absorb it. The generals can deal with their opposition equivalents because they were classmates. The deal can be an absorbed entity.

I don’t know why you think MTI classmates fighting on opposing sides is fraternal. The West Point class of 1861 had the same thing unfold. They knew each other well. They tried to kill each other, but when it was necessary to negotiate something, it was very much possible.

There really isn’t any other eventual outcome. Russia is convinced this is existential. It certainly is for Zelinsky’s gov’t. There can be no agreement in this situation. Russia without Putin still faces existential risk to the oil flow from the Caspian, so they have no choice.

Ukraine without Zelinsky is still Ukraine. Only Zelinsky would cease to exist. Ukraine remains, either as a satellite state or provincial segments of the Russian Federation.

BTW the first intimation of things emerged from Erdogan today. “Zelinsky is highly suspicious he is being deceived about many things by his staff.”
