I’ve lately heard that book deals are just the politician’s way of accepting bribes and laundering the money, so I’m guessing he’s declaring himself open to be approached. If someone “buys” 50k copies and then suggests Pence run for office again, he’ll understand that he’s got a sponsor to gratify.
