Democrats Are in for a Backlash This November
Townhall ^ | 08/19/2022 | Ronna McDaniel

Posted on 08/19/2022 7:41:20 AM PDT by Az Joe

Every action has a reaction. This election cycle, Democrats are learning the hard way that the same is true in politics. For nearly two years, Joe Biden and Democrats have run the country into the ground with a set of left-wing priorities and radical policies. Now, voters from coast to coast are rejecting Democrats’ agenda and voting Republican up and down the ballot. A backlash is coming, and there’s no better indicator than the battle for the United States Senate.

RINO’s best not get too cocky.

Most RNIS got clobbered in the Republican primaries, including Liz Cheney this week.
They are not in a position to be cocky about anything.

"The general rule, I tend to think has value is to wait until after Labor Day to really gear up messaging. Otherwise, you are just wasting resources.

Indeed that is the conventional wisdom. Yet does it still hold true in the age of early voting?

You’re right. We should not be listening to the leftwing “polls” and pundits. As usual, they are trying to drive wedges and plant seeds of doubt to discourage Republican voters

I disagree. If you fail to identify your opponent with negatives early, you’re finished.

Between democrats and Republicans themselves we’ve had the GOP candidates painted with negatives up and down.

Mastriano is an extremist, Oz isn’t from PA, Herschel Walker is crazy, and so on.

McConnel is allowing this on purpose.

> Plenty has been done on ballot reforms, in lots of states, including Texas and Florida. <

That’s good news.

But I’m not too worried about those states. I’m worried about the swing states. I live in one of them. And absolutely nothing has been done here. Quite the contrary. My state has made it even easier to vote by mail. And if you don’t follow those rules correctly, no problem. Your vote is counted anyway.

Plus GOPukes are pathetic. Trump et al did all the heavy lifting concerning messaging. Now is a golden opportunity to teach about conservative, constitutional principles like Reagan did, like Newt’s 1994 ‘Contract with America’. Leftards have propagandized the weak minded but a strong, passionate unified message from the GOP would be of great benefit. Charlie Kirk is so right about this however the old RINO’s need to be axed and replaced with the new breed of effective, passionate conservatives.

It never held true. You have to paint your opponent with negatives early on. When you wait until the end it just looks like desperation.

Few Dems in Wyoming.
Most of the all time record turn out was from the conservative Republican voting base in Wyoming, who were totally pissed off over the FBI Mar-A-Lago invasion.
Dementia Joe's dictatorial policies will bring out consrvative voters in huge numbers every time.

Exactly right, you need to frame them early on.

This was a silly cheerleading piece by Ronna. The GOP will obviously take the house, but it’s unlikely to take the senate, unfortunately. The GOP simply did not learn its lesson from the Tea Party era. Yes, we need “real” conservatives, but you still have to have a solid candidate that’s ready for primetime. Oz in PA is way out of his depth. Walker in GA is a poor candidate that was not vetted. If anything, the Dems might gain a seat in the senate. Enough with the complacency. November will be a disappointment for the GOP, I fear.

Swing states with Republican legislators passed ballot reforms too.
Been a very busy two years for Republican state legislatures over new anti ballot fraud laws.

Even if we do we got Romney, Murk, Collins and other RINO’s. Will not matter.

Don’t be so sure, Murk’s seat is still in play.

Wyoming is still controlled by Republicans.
There are no large city where half the population of the state lives controlled by Dems.

In almost all the swing states there is big city totally controlled by Dems:
MI Detroit
PA Philly
AZ Phoenix
OH Cleveland
WI Milwaukee
GA Atlanta

Even where I live in NH, a state of 1.3 million people the cities of Manchester, Nashua, Concord, Portsmouth are all controlled by the Dems.
The cheating does not happen in the small town like I live in. Where 1100 people vote by paper ballots and we have to show an ID, plus have their name on a checklist. The cheating always happens in the cities or the big college towns.

Which is why McConnell prefers the minority, because he can blame the do nothing status of his conference on the minority status. With a 2-3 seat majority he'd have to work hard and get these rinos on board or he personally would be blamed which would threaten his leader status.

McConnell is allowing this on purpose.”

McTurtle is a POS.

If we take the House but not the Senate, “Mr international ATM machine” is one we hold responsible.

These clowns that want to blame Trump instead of the lazy Senate Republican leader, need their heads examined to see if their brains are functioning properly.

You have to paint your opponent with negatives early on.

Has to be positive, inspiring, common sense messaging with passion that will win over some voters. Reagan showed how to do it but the feckless GOP doesn’t have what it takes. Too much dead wood but the newly elected in the Primaries must take the lead and blow past the dead wood lunkheads of the GOPe.

I know it’s cold comfort but I see a silver lining in not taking the senate. I’ll explain. If the republicans are in the majority in both houses the democrats and the media will be able to blame republicans for the inevitable economic implosion that is poised to occur after the election. They will spend every moment between Nov 2022 and Nov 2024 demonizing the right. If republicans only own the house the blame at least will be spread around.

U.S. citizens should be good and fed up with the left by 2024 and unfortunately have felt the true pain of leftist ideology. As painful as it will be this may be the only way to teach a valuable message. This will be the last best chance for Trump and a conservative congress.

Lastly the republican congress can spend their time exposing the Biden corruption and the corruption in the DOJ and FBI along with a holding action roadblocking some of the left’s agenda.

Also 100% correct, but you can belittle and frame your opponent negatively in a humorous way.
