I wonder if anyone is doing the research on where the votes are coming from.

Anchorage and Fairbanks have and are becoming overrrun with liberal hipsters.

Wanting that Last Frontier life, without actually living in the Last Frontier.

Another shining example of liberal, urban city dwellers, densely populated, turning an election.

According to the linked article, the reason we won't know the result before August 31 is that that's the deadline for receipt of ballots from overseas. I'm guessing most of those ballots would military. If you want to make sure that servicemembers can have their ballots counted, you have to allow time for that, whether the system is RCV or the more common first-past-the-post (plurality wins).

I have a gum wrapper. It has room now for the list of GOP candidates who were declared the winner after a recount, a vote count investigation or a 2nd election.

Can also hold counties and states that switched to Trump carrying them.

I hear you. I’m honestly good with Begich too. I know a few very conservative people that support him. People I trust that know a lot about Alaska politics. But Palin is who I hope gets it.

Yes, I know. The ranked choice voting scheme was put in by the Murkowski machine to help her win the senate seat. Since this scheme affects all elections in Alaska, both house and senate, its ironic that her scheme may wind up helping Palin in her house race.

I don’t know how California managed to sneak their jungle primary into levelheaded Alaska (I know Murkowski) but they need to get rid of it. Stupid way to run an election.....just look at California

I’ve never been that certain about Palin. I really don’t know her or what she has accomplished in the past, but I was for her when she was running. Thanks for your input.

Hi all...with assistance from Jim I finally resurrected my original posting name of Spokeshave ...after some years posting as SpokeshaveReturns,

I chose the name Spokeshave as my father was a master woodworker...and I still have his original spokeshave,... together with chisel handles and a mortise gauge that he made as an apprentice after leaving school at 13....also his original apprentice papers.
