I was the XO of a support detachment at Todendorf, a German AA range overlooking the Baltic. About 5 miles off base, there was a tourist town, Lutjenberg, that came to life during the summer.
We were the only Americans for 200 miles, amidst the greatest concentration of newly divorced women I've ever seen. They fell in love with my soldiers, and the sentiment was reciprocated.
We had a great crew...everyone knew that if they did their jobs, everyone would basically be working four days a week. As you might expect, there were no discipline problems.
Can we trade Liz Cheney for her?
Absolutely 👍
“Nothing “delusional” about expecting Russia to collapse. Again”
There’s a reason Putin just reactivated the Hero Mother award. Russia’s demographics were collapsing before the war. Losing half a million citizens who flee to western Europe won’t help.
Russia is still making money on oil and gas but most of the gas sales will come to an end next spring. Russia can ship its oil in tankers (with some difficulty), but gas almost requires pipelines. Russia’s future holds an almost certain reduction in energy export volumes. Any further price reduction associated with a world wide recession will be devastating.
It is easy to imagine Belorussia breaking away politically in the next few years and it is quite possible that Russia will end up withdrawing from Ukraine (except for Crimea). Could political and economic chaos extend to a loss of Kaliningrad? If Russian government and military payrolls dry up what will the Kaliningrad economy have left?
People dont party themselves “to death”.
They are human and live life, and none of that has anything to do with politics.
You, however, I wonder about. Where comes this hatred and bitterness for people having fun?
Btw, Finland has been a “social democracy” for at least 75 years. Not such a fatal condition then.
Life was good!
She is a dancing fool WEF stooge? Then sign me up, Uncle Klaus!
The joyless libtards just can’t stand anyone having any fun anymore...
So not guilty.
I’d love to have her in my Party.
I really don’t care what they do. I don’t care if they have fun, and I never expressed any displeasure at it.
The US should not subsidize their defense, in any way.
You strawman others as being puritan, but you’re the one engaging in finger-wagging. I’m happy to let others have whatever opinion they want.
And Finland had to move away from the socialist extreme in the 1980s, or Nokia would never have risen to prominence. Yet, what great innovations has their economy produced since the early 2000s?
All true, what you said. I watched that War and Peace clip three times. I like it when they crash into the snow to kiss and cuddle. Rus winter wear was very good, at least for the aristocracy that got to have dreams.

One daughter, she needs to make more. Good genes need to be propagated. She has my vote when/if I live in Finland
