Agreed. This probably says it better than I can, Difference Between Ethos Pathos and Logos. Bottom line each has a place due to the intellectual capabilities and motivations of the audience being addressed. I find the study of Rhetoric very fascinating. Given that I was an engineer all my adult life, rhetoric was not a part of my formal education.
