Sorry China. Taiwan Chipmakers are ‘seeing other people’ as is their right!
Tariffs.
I hope the plants are rigged for instant destruction in the event of a Chinese invasion.
And make sure China knows it.
Yes, we need to be making our own since they have become an indispensable national security item.
We need to get the never-to-be-sufficiently-damned EPA out of the way of making our own.
It appears China has been wooing the youth with some success.
Around half now accept reunification with mainland China as the new masters.
Same lies communist always use.
You would think that with a common language and cross border visits the folk of free Taiwan should know better.
If idiot ChiComs hadn’t taken over there could be TSMC’s all over China and China would have been a rich and prosperous nation decades ago.
“It appears China has been wooing the youth with some success.

No.
I’d insult your intelligence but I feel sorry for you to know so little.
Why would you ever think this. It’s the exact opposite.
Several articles on election results over the past few years that have been posted to this very site.
No I do not archive every dismaying article I read.
I enjoyed my visit to Taiwan back in the 80’s.
You’re way off.
Almost zero support for any unification with China, especially among younger people.
OK, then numerous past reports on this site are way off.
I have no idea what reports you’re talking about.
Here’s one that is representative and has a 30 year overview.

Rest assured. Taiwanese do not want to join China. The few that do don’t want to join PRC.
I did not save them over the years, just remember them.
I am all for “One China”, as soon as Taiwan takes control.
Not likely but the best outcome.
Key sentence in the excerpt: “Pelosi’s itinerary included a visit with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, the world’s largest and most critical chip manufacture”
Pelosi just checking up on how secure her investments are.
Bfl
TSMC is building a plant in Arizona. It takes a long time though.
Long? No amount of time is too long to ensure economic self sufficiency and security.
TSMC is currently building a group of multiple billion dollar chip plants here in the US (Arizona).
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has begun construction on its US$12 billion semiconductor fabrication facility in Arizona. The company is also reportedly considering building a similar chipmaking plant in Germany. The Arizona plant will produce the latest-generation 5-nanometre chips, with production expected to start in 2024.

If you think I meant long as in not worth it, your mind reading skills are off. I own stock in TSMC. By long, I mean China has a couple years to make a decision with regards to Taiwan. Having a plant in Arizona is not very good without the personnel, intel and technology.
