She won’t need to self-fund. If she runs as an independent, she will have more money from D’s than she can spend in her wildest dreams. Her only usefulness to them now is that she would throw the election to a Rat. And they will pay for that big-time.

John Anderson tried that against Reagan. The Carter people wanted him to drop out and wouldn't have him at the debate. So Reagan debated Anderson sans Carter, then Reagan went head to head with Carter. Anderson, a "moderate" REpublican, largely drew from Dems who weren't comfortable with Carter. Biden has the same problem.

Ross Perot drew from Bush because he ran as a populist. Cheney cannot recast herself.
