Thanks much for your thinking on this. These young Greenie idiots are so miseducated. So brainwashed. They are the perfect stooges for the WEF. But not just stooges. They serve as shock troops in “global warming” rallies and demonstrations.

Look how effective Greta Thunberg was as a propaganda tool. To shame people into believing in global warming doom and gloom.

This article (https://oilprice.com/Energy/Natural-Gas/Germany-Will-Have-Less-Than-3-Months-Of-Gas-If-Russia-Halts-Supply.html ) cites the German regulator Klaus Müller as saying that German storage, if 95% full on November first (their goal, currently 77%, ahead of schedule) would cover about 2 1/2 months of normalWinter use, if Russia completely halted deliveries (all other things being equal).

They can additionally conserve, replace or ration gas use on the demand side, and/or increase other supplies. The US Freeport LNG export terminal is expected to start exporting agin in October.

The weather is also a significant variable.

“They (Green Party) are the perfect stooges for the WEF”

They have been, since inception, stooges for the Soviet/Russian Intelligence Services. KGB had been a driver in establishing and developing that movement, along with disarmament movements in the West.

“Why the high lifting price? Because all Russian oil and gas comes from very cold and permafrost regions”

That is certainly a contributing factor (although the Caspian Basin is not as bad as Siberia). So is depth and pressure. A lot of Saudi oil just gushes out under its own pressure, without having to be pumped or fracked. Also, long distance to transport to market (time zones). Technology and efficiency are contributors to cost as well (that is getting worse with the withdrawal of Western oil majors).

My point is that it is much more difficult to maintain and build the above ground infrastructure for oil and gas fields. Due to them being in such cold regions. How about getting a man to do welding outside when it is 30 below Fahrenheit? Turning valves when is this cold? Brittle steel fittings.

The Russian crude oil below might come up willingly. But above ground maintenance is difficult, at least 6 months a year. How about permafrost roads that cannot be driven on to bring supplies? It gets expensive to fly in parts and supplies and food by helicopters and airplanes. Obviously this all reduces Russian profits from their oil and gas.

One major Russian gas field listed is in ocean waters 1000+ miles north of Moscow. Super freezing waters, good luck exploiting that gas field. Only poor Rus minorities will do this grunt work.

“ My point is that market forces really matter. Presidential power, not so much….oil companies are taking their time starting pumping again, new drilling, and using the 9,000 permits for leases I have seen as available. They have been keeping oil prices high and raking in record profits…”

What Trump did was to remove many government imposed restrictions on the free market. Record oil production ensued. That Covid interrupted production does not change that. That Biden’s puppeteers reinstated even more restrictions on the free market and his ESG cronies in the financial industry have choked off domestic production does not change that.

We had plentiful, inexpensive energy because Trump got government OUT OF THE WAY.

Getting government out of the way doesn’t help if there is overproduction that lowers the price so much that more expensive locations like fracking fields shut down production or pumping and then don’t restart so they can rake in high price profits. There is a sweet spot between too cheap and too high priced that keeps the market moving, except when CEO’s get GREEDY.

If you get out of the theoretical in look at the facts of that time prices plunged to the degree that they did because OPEC+ tried to flood the market and put frackers out of business.

Some smaller outfits did go belly up. Better run outfits bought their leases and equipment at a discount and made money at $40/bbl.

CEO’S had nothing to do with the war against US frackers by Russia and OPEC.

Or Covid.
