Trump is playing statesman and peacemaker. He’s striking a pose. I’d be doing the same thing. Trump has no real control over wether or not Americans rise up against the illegality that passes for the current administration. He’s probably impressed by the levels and quality of anger he’s seeing. Trump would rather win via the system. That would be best all around. But anger can’t rise forever and not explode sooner or later.
