Physician, lawyer, mother, and founder of America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) Simone Gold is serving a 60-day prison sentence for a nonviolent misdemeanor — unlawful entry to and remaining in a restricted area of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper also ordered her to pay a $9,500 fine, and she will remain on federally supervised release for one year following her prison term.
She described her arrest days after the January 6 incident as a “violent assault,” saying that an “FBI SWAT team raided my home with assault rifles and a battering ram.” She had no prior criminal record.
Gold reported to a federal prison in Miami, Florida, at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26. She has remained in contact with the AFLDS mailing list, and her latest email reads in part:
I remain in this Miami prison, serving time for a bogus trespassing charge.
My computer time is limited to 15 minutes per session. I wanted to express my thanks for the countless letters of support and prayers. Even the prison staff noted the volume of supportive mail. I am both humbled and strengthened. Thank you!
Using the excuse of COVID-19, all incoming female inmates are put into a punishment isolation cell under the guise of a “quarantine.” They told me it wasn’t for punishment, but it was certainly a punishing and inhumane experience. Apparently, men are not subjected to this treatment.
Another form of arbitrary punishment is moving me, along with other inmates, to new cells with no notice. A guard simply yells my name, and I’m expected to move at any moment. My staff knows that if I stop emailing or calling, it’s because they have moved me or possibly put me back into isolation.
I’ve noticed activity in the prison that makes me fearful for my own safety. However, my spirits are high. I am more determined than ever to keep fighting for you and medical freedom.
She goes on to specify, “I have personally funded my legal defense, and not one dollar from AFLDS has been spent on my attorneys.” The postscript to her letter is particularly touching and includes an appeal for contact that must be of great importance for someone in her position:

As a result of sharing her concerns at the Capitol on January 6th, 2021, after being invited into the Capitol by Capitol police, she sits in prison today.
Dr. Simone did nothing wrong. Her crime was a simple misdemeanor for trespassing. How could she trespass if she was invited into the US Capitol? She committed no violence. She left the building when she was asked to leave.
Then the good doctor was placed with a corrupt Obama Judge, who she rebuffed in college many years ago when he asked her out. He did not recuse himself .

Interesting that she has access to a computer for e-mail. It’s been a while but my last visit to a federal corrections facility as a potential vendor led me to believe computers are not available to inmates. Also, I have a cousin who is vocational trainer (plumbing) at an FCI who confirmed that this limitation also makes it tough for him as an instructor. I wonder why the difference???
If cops,escorted folks into,the building and onto the grounds, then it should have been a case of “restricted but allowed”. It is entrapment to escort them in and the charge them with crime afterwards. Don’t they give tours of the Capitol? If so. Then obviously it’s up,to,the discretion of employees or guards as to whether or not folks can go,in?
