Back in the ‘60s there was a picture in the Stars and Stripes of Mao swimming the Yangtze River and the real story was that help was provided by scuba divers, kinda like Hillarity being shuffled around in a body brace, that failed to articulate properly and... you’ve seen the images. Or the doddering Brezhnev.

Good post. That “hero” the swimming Mao was a perfect example.
