Ukraine troops have blown up two primary bridges that Russian troops used to access occupied territory as the country’s top soldier said Saturday that one fifth of invading ground forces have been “destroyed” with the conflict nearing its sixth month.
The Antonivsy road bridge and the Kherson rail bridge over the Dnipro River were heavily damaged in attacks earlier this week and are “likely unusable for heavy military vehicles,” according to a report from British intelligence released Saturday. That could mean Russian soliders are stuck with limited options for new supplies or weapons to reach them.
Both spans have been used by Russian forces in the occupied city of Kherson on the Black Sea to transport soldiers and war materiel. Large parts of the region are occupied by Russian soldiers.
“The two primary road bridges giving access to the pocket of Russian occupied territory on the west bank of the Dnipro in Kherson Oblast are now probably out of use for the purpose of substantial military resupply,” the British intelligence briefing said. “On 10 August 2022, Ukrainian precision strikes likely rendered the road crossing of the Dnipro River at Nova Kakhovka unusable for heavy military vehicles. In recent days, Russia has only succeeded in making superficial repairs to the damaged Antonivsky road bridge, which likely remains structurally undermined.”

Ukrainian troops have “destroyed” one fifth of Russian ground forces in the country, Ukrainian Armed Forces chief General Valeri Zaluzhnyi told US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley during a phone call Saturday.
Western officials estimate that Russia has lost up to 20,000 soldiers in the conflict, which began when Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24. The Ukrainian government has not released reports of losses, citing efforts to boost the morale of their country’s fighters.
Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on world leaders to restrict visas for Russian nationals and declare Russia a state sponsor of terrorism.
“There must be a guarantee that Russian killers and state terror guides will not use Schengen,” said Zelensky in a video address Friday. “You cannot destroy the very idea of Europe, our common European values…You cannot turn Europe into a supermarket that does not matter who enters.”
This week, Latvia’s parliament declared Russia a state sponsor of terrorism for violence against civilians in Ukraine, while Estonia approved restrictions on tourist visas for Russian citizens entering the country. On Friday, Kyiv called on other countries to do the same, according to the Wall Street Journal.

What time is it? It is HIMARS O'CLOCK
.
. HIMARS O'clock | Know Your Meme HIMARS O'clock or HIMARS Time is a phrase used to celebrate High Mobility Artillery Rocket System strikes by Ukraine on Russian forces during the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine. The phrase first appeared on Twitter in July 2022 following reports that Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Russian ammunition depot outside of Snizhne, Ukraine using HIMARS launchers supplied by the United States.
The number of Russians “lost” is over 40K. Sadly, I’m confident that Ukraine has lost much more.
This is obviously Putin disinfo. Anyone who’s been reading the western press knows that Russia lost 20% the first day. We know that ALL of their generals have been killed and mothers came to the front and repossessed half the Russian troops. There can’t be more than an handful of Russians left from what we’ve been told. Unfortunately, there are no trucks, helicopters or planes left to ferry those few beaten troops back home. Of the few mechanical devices that haven’t broken down or ran out gas, the Ukrainian super heroes have destroyed 99+%.
Another couple billion$ for the Ukes. We obviously don’t need it here.
And at the present rate of fire they ran out of artillery rounds 6 months ago and besides the transport vehicles are stuck on the side of the road out of fuel with flat tires and destroyed by Javelins trying to enter the Ukraine.
Wierd article.
You certainly dont need your major-war stockpiles of weapons and ammunition (howitzers, mlrs systems like HIMARS, etc). What US Army is ever going to use all that? And what for? To fight who?
Might as well give all that to the Ukrainians and Poles and etc.
I think what the General was referring to, was the percentage of Russian combat units (Battalion Tactical Groups) that took enough casualties to be rated as combat ineffective (typically about 50%).
Those units are kind of beyond repair by just adding some equipment and personnel replacements - they are at the point where the remaining parts are used in forming new units. Even if they keep the same name and flag, they are kind of starting over, and have to be constituted and trained a bit as a unit, which normally takes months.
Normally, for every one killed, the average is about three or four more that are wounded. Total Russian forces KIA and WIA is up around 80,000, with probably 1/4 being their GRU’s “Wagner Group” mercenaries.
Historically, Infantry bears the great bulk of casualties - around 85%, but that can vary based on the nature of the conflict.
Those Infantry (mostly Mechanized Infantry or Airborne in the Russian Army) are a small minority of the total standing Army. The great bulk of those units in the Russian Army (like 85-90%) have already been rotated into combat in the Ukraine, and their Infantry trigger pullers and tank crews have borne the brunt of the casualties.
Maybe half or more of the Infantry they started the war with, are likely out of action from being killed or wounded. They reportedly have retention problems as well. When soldiers contracts come up for renewal, as many do in June, a lot of guys are not reenlisting.
With our JAG approved/disapproved rules of engagement? Permission must be given to hurt someone’s feelings these days. Blow up a bridge? Not if used by trannies headed to a drag show.
Well, this too, among other things.
The US is never again going to have to deploy a large army in a continental war. Not in a forseeable future. Therefore there is never going to be a use for masses (millions of rounds) of 155mm ammo, sufficient to supply a whole World War, or bombardment rockets, or everything else that the US is sending to Eastern Europe. Even Taiwan cant use it, there simply is no way to fit the thousands of pieces of ordnance on that small island.
Indeed, the only likely use for all this is for another US Civil war. And in that, who do you think is going to be on the receiving end of the Federal bombardments?
If I were you, I would be demanding that the US Army disband ASAP and send all their munitions to Poland.
A source gave the numbers at Orcs 500 a day, UA at 200 a day. So who knows?
Bo, Russia does not use the designation BTG - that was an idea cooked up by Shoigu in ~2010 and ignored by the RGF High Command. The Russian Ground Forces use the standard of Army, Division, Brigade, Battalion, Separate (unit name). In those divisions, only ~40% actually are trigger pullers.
The BTG nomenclature is only useful for small wars and does not work for big ones.
Shoigu, known for the cardboard commemorative medals he wears, is despised by the RGF.
Add that conscripts are refusing to go to Ukraine which kinda leaves their stealth mobilization of forcing each factory and Oblast to raise a battalion which will not work either.
As far as rotation goes, that would be news to lots of Russian troops who have only had a brief rest period before being thrown back to the front. They don’t get to go home, except as a 200.
Another couple billion$ for the Ukes. We obviously don’t need it here.

We don’t because with the $9.5 Trillion the politicians have already spent to enrich themselves and their cronies, whats a few billion besides pocket change?

What is worse than putting lipstick on a pig? Putting lipstick on a corpse. On the very day that the NY Times “reports” that Russia is struggling to advance, Russia took the town of Pesky, which sits at a key junction west of Donetsk. Having secured control of Pesky, the Russians are in a much stronger position to take all Ukrainian territory up to the Dnieper River.
The plight of the Ukrainian troops remains desperate notwithstanding HIMMARS activity.

Lastly, there is the Chutzpah award. Vladimir Zelensky is the winner and it is not because he is Jewish. Russia holds the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant, the largest in Europe. Yet, according to Zelensky, Russia is shelling itself and putting its troops, who are guarding the plant, at risk. That is some serious chutzpah my friends.
Zelensky, with the urging of his western puppet masters, is pushing the threat of a nuclear holocaust as a last ditch effort to try to stall the Russian advance. Russia has made it clear that they are not going to submit to such blackmail. I suspect this is one of the stories that will dominate the meme in the coming week.

Must be loads of Russian artillery tubes blowing up and killing their Russian crews. The mainstream media is keeping this hushed up. 🤣🤣

About Ru military strength
Only 5-10 % of actual strength fighting at any time
~35000 = ~ 87 new volunteer battalions (1-5 each provinces) are coming , some already deployed like Alga 1
DNR LNR = getting equipped to RU standard and reinforced by new recruits every day
Ukrops getting shot at ~20000-50000 arty shell each day, not counting heavy MLRS and big- 500 kg warhead - missiles.
Video of the “Alga” battalion, the first of two battalions composed only of volunteers from Tatarstan that will go to Ukraine. They departed the Kazan Higher Tank Command School for Orenburg where they will train and then be sent to Nizhny Novgorod.

The Timer battalion is still being formed. They have reportedly turned down applicants because of health issues or a criminal record. Each volunteer will receive a 260k ruble lump sum from Tatarstan’s budget, and then 170k per month from the Ru MoD when in combat.
Each volunteer will also receive 2k rubles a day from Tatarstan. The cost of equipping the battalions is coming from Tatarstan’s budget as well. They are also only recruiting volunteers with a military background.
