Yes, most of whom, if cpas are Registered Agents of the IRS— and thus the extra agents are NOT needed (as the Agents they think they can hire, have zero liability for what they claim a taxpayer got wrong!!). All is based on court decisions- cause if you only follow publications of the IRS you STILL can be accused of not doing the return correctly. CPAs have insurance against such screwups.
I think she wants the IRS to do the returns of you and send he taxpayer a bill that you can’t refuse.

I sent in a simple 1040 by mail and it took them over 5 months to process it and issue the refund by direct deposit. I guess I'll go back to E-file next year. I quit doing doing e-file a few years when the E-file vendor was requiring me to fill out unnecessary forms. I'll try a different vendor next year..
