That being the case, God bless them. But I think there are many women who simply run from their God-given destiny of home and family not realizing that is where their happiness really is.
In the US, this is true because it’s what they’re told to do starting in pre-school.
In India, I’m sure they hear a lot less of this bs and a lot more about familial duty. Which can be oppressive in it’s own way. They have a high rate of student suicide like many other asian cultures because of the pressure for academic success is familial and not just individual.
It’s one thing to feel like you are failing yourself, but imagine feeling like the whole family (aunties and cousins, too) is depending on you to succeed. Especially if you are on an education/career track you actually hate.
