With 87,000 New Agents on Way, 4 Facts About IRS Gun Arsenal
The Daily Signal ^ | August 12, 2022 | Fred Lucas

Some of the 87,000 new agents whom Democrats propose to hire at the Internal Revenue Service could come with some extra firepower.

On Friday, House Democrats gave final passage to the tax and spending bill they dubbed the Inflation Reduction Act, which, among other things, would double the size of the IRS with 87,000 new agents to beef up enforcement.

As of two years ago, the IRS had an arsenal of 4,600 guns, reported OpenTheBooks, a government watchdog group.

Two federal investigations in the past decade found that IRS agents had not been sufficiently trained and were accident-prone with the weapons they have. Armed IRS raids on nonviolent taxpayers surfaced as a concern almost 25 years ago during a Senate hearing.

The legislation, which unwinds from 2023 through 2031, would devote $80 billion to expanding the IRS and boosting tax revenue to pay for Democrats’ green energy subsidies and other pet projects.

...

During the House floor debate Friday, Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., raised concerns about arming IRS agents.

“This bill has new IRS agents and they are armed, and the job description tells them that they need to be required to carry a firearm and expect to use deadly force if necessary,” Boebert said. “Excessive taxation is theft. You are using the power of the federal government for armed robbery on the taxpayers.”

Rep. John Yarmuth, D-Ky., suggested that no IRS agents are armed.

...

After sparking some controversy amid the proposed expansion of the agency, the IRS deleted “willing to use deadly force” from the job description.

Back in the late 1990’s, the IRS put out an RFP for all manner of shotguns, ammunition, clocks and potted plants with embedded microphones, along with ordinary office supplies.

The name of the html file was “irssic” (probably with a .txt or .htm suffix).

I had a copy at one time, but lost it somewhere along the way. It was also available on the Wayback Machine (archive.org) for a while, but they apparently found it and “asked” for it to be removed.

Please see my post #39.

Your argument is but one more reason to replace the Marxist-inspired “progressive” income tax with a simple, easy to understand, easy (and CHEAP) to administer, flat rate National Retail Sales Tax and ABOLISH the IRS!

There are several things I think we are missing.

87k is a significant and specific number that was arrived to at a meeting. Equal to the number of Russians lost in Ukraine. It is an army; and that army has a task that the current IRS army cannot fulfill. So what is that task, on the eve of Mid-Terms that promises to be a slaughter, which would lead to defunding this new army?

For your consideration:

1. The only option the Democrats have is to miraculously keep the majority of congressional power, or goad conservatives into a Civil War, or both. That is their only chance of survival: to use the full reigns of power to destroy the conservative movement. Otherwise, they (all of them) eventually go to prison because the reins of government get turned on them. They know this. We are now in the Disunited States of “Make Me.”

2. For that reason, the Mid-Terms is already in the bag for the Democrats. Whether it is their control over the voter rolls of 31 states, or some other event, they have a plan.

3. This leads to a cataclysmic event on the close horizon that will cause people to not pay their taxes, or create an incipient insurgency; a prelude to civil war. DJT arrested, along with a series of other abuses.

4. Conservatives are going to jail; property and assets will be seized and liquidated. This leads to emptying prisons and filling them up with us. And building new ones
The illegal immigrant labor will be happy to do that.

5. A couple of Supreme Court Justices are going to be removed from the bench. By whatever means. Soon.

The fair tax has never been more important. They are turning the irs into the gestapo. Find a dime you didn’t file correctly, and all the people hear in the media is “tax criminal arrested”...

They may have deleted “the use of deadly force” from the job description, but privately, you can bet they will train them to use it.

Fine, but that is not where the line of scrimmage is today. Right now we have the tax laws we have, and they are not enforced and the agency tasked to enforce them has been starved of the assets to do so for two generations.

I was laughing non-stop when I read it. I got it off the internet, I have no idea who wrote it but it’s brilliant.

This is Obama’s alternative army that he wanted. A place for ANTIFA and their followers.

Open season on conservatives.

Are we allowed to fight back????
