I think you’re on the right track. Of the current employees, estimated at 76,000 I believe only about 2,300 carry, if they add 87,000 new employees, then that number grows to approximately 5,000 who actually carry so you’re looking at 1,000 rounds per armed employee. With regular proficiency training that’s not a big number. Adding 87,000 employees, more than doubling your staff, is a bigger question. How on God’s green earth can any govt agency need to more than double in size.

Instead of pouring the money into updating the ridiculously paper-intensive, manual IRS process, the funds are designated to double the labor costs. Upgrading the antiquated software would be much more cost effective. Can't have that, now can we?

Who is available to fill all of these new 87,000 positions? My first thought are the illegal aliens streaming across the border. Crazy, huh? Otherwise, they know a lot of corporate downsizing will occur in the coming months, and they expect to tap that pool.
