Lol

A lot girls looked like Manson girls then

That’s my era

That’s what made the Tate La Bianca murders so unsettling aside from the butchery and pleadings on deaf female ears and Tex’s

These were regulars girls

Fried by Charlie and turned into unfeeling monsters

There is a movie where a therapist years later in prison is able breach the fog and several of the girls come to realization the evil they did

Something they had suppressed for years

It’s telling I was surprised and I’ve kept up with it since high school when the book came out

The murders were I think august 1969

But the fact fried hippie girls and Tex Watson did them led by a charismatic ex con didn’t come out till end of the year maybe early 1970 after Susan Atkins talked in jail

Anyhow yep Manson girls were America then

And it scared folks

So much for non binary then

It definitely was my era. I went to high school with a kid who kept running away from home to go live with the Manson family. Not hard since Hollywood was only 30 miles away. He kept bugging us to join him. This was a year or so before the murders.

A couple of years later I worked at a restaurant with a girl who had lived with the Family. She looked normal enough and worked hard but barely talked. In retrospect it was almost like high functioning autism. Her much more normal sister is the one who told me about her sister’s past.

What the two one-time Manson members had in common was really crummy home lives. Being part of the Manson clan must have seemed an improvement. But in looks they would have blended in with everyone else of that era.
