Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen penned a letter this week directing the Internal Revenue Service to ensure the $80 billion in additional funding it is set to receive over the next decade doesn’t result in more middle-class tax audits.
Yellen sought to assuage concerns despite sharp criticism from Republican lawmakers and independent analyses which indicated the IRS spending spree included in President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act will increase tax scrutiny for more than just wealthy Americans.
“Specifically, I direct that any additional resources—including any new personnel or auditors that are hired—shall not be used to increase the share of small business or households below the $400,000 threshold that are audited relative to historical levels,” Yellen said in the Aug. 10 letter to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig.

Weasel wording. She’s only claiming that the new agents and budget will be used against the middle class. She’s carefully not saying anything about the existing IRS resources that are being freed up by the increase.

Well, that’s OK then. After all, those guarantees they made when they passed the 16th amendment that it would never go above 10% were a promise kept, weren’t they?
No worries. The middle class and small busineses are being eliminated.
Churches and non-profits are fair game though. Expect LLC’s and pac’s to be audited forever.

So, essentially she has admitted the IRS is funded to go after the small people in the USA.
Yeah, and the TSA is temporary, and the Patriot Act is only for our good too, right?
