That may go towards explaining the "full employment" scenario, along with not including peoplr who have given up looking.
On a cynical note: employers may be getting what they asked for (in terms of be careful what you wish for) in terms of the last acceptable form of discrimination in the workplace-age. Well now a good chunk of those that have carried the water while this has been going on are able to leave, taking their tribal knowledge with them....I'm betting over the next decade we'll start hearing about productivity drops, while peter principle management continues to talk about how even more diversity/equity/inclusion and good esg scores are the way to success.

It’s all fun and games until the lights go out.
Personally, as an X-er, I feel like the Boomers are the only thing keeping the lights on these days. There’s just not enough of us X-ers to go around, and many (like myself) are disillusioned, and want off this merry-go-round ASAP.
Which will leave the bag in the hands of the Millenials and Z’s, etc. who are busy proving to the world that they can’t find their gender with both hands.
So, yeah, sorry for this message of hope. Maybe I need some more coffee.
That makes the youngest of the Baby Boomers 58 years old today. Within 10 years, almost all the Baby Boomers will be gone from the workforce.
That is going to have a huge impact on the workforce as by and large, the Baby Boomers were the ones that stuck their noses to the grindstone, working the extra hours and making the extra effort, putting in 30 or more years at the same company while putting up with all kinds of adversity that would make your average Millennial cry.
The company I work for already misses the Baby Boomers that have already retired. We are calling them back and have rehired a few that were willing to put in a few more years.
In ten years, you won't be able to find those kind of people anymore.
