Sweden has previously provided more than a hundred instructors to train the Ukrainian military. And now the country's Defense Minister Peter Gulqvist has not ruled out that it may join the production of weapons for the needs of Kiev.
He stated this after the donors ' conference for our state in Copenhagen, which took place on August 11. During this meeting, three main areas of long-term support were identified, SVT reports.
"It's not something I rule out, but it's too early to say right now. We are involved in all three dimensions of assistance to Ukraine in a positive way, and in the end, it remains to be seen how we will bring this together," the head of the Swedish Defense Ministry said.
But, according to him, Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic have already reported that they can help with the production of weapons.
"We are talking about using production lines in different countries for the production of weapons that can be directly supplied to Ukraine," the politician explained. Peter Gulqvist did not rule out that Sweden may join the production of weapons for Ukraine.
By three dimensions of assistance to Ukraine, Gulqvist meant training the Ukrainian military, military support, and the production of weapons. He added that Stockholm may expand participation in the training program of the Ukrainian military in Britain.
The Swedish Defense Minister also recalled that following the results of the donor conference for Ukraine in Copenhagen, its participants agreed to create a fund to finance the production of weapons, which will be headed by the United Kingdom.
Recall: the Swedish Armed Forces decided to send 120 instructors to the UK to train Ukrainian citizens without combat experience in basic military training. The goal is to provide Ukraine with support and strengthen its defense capability.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the participants of the conference of donors of Ukraine in Copenhagen agreed to provide Kiev with €1.5 billion in assistance. The funds, among other things, are intended for the production of weapons in Ukraine – in particular artillery and ammunition.

Sweden has a remarkable weapons industry. While they can no longer be competitive with fighter jets (and that was a huge achievement for a nation of 10m) their other weapons are very impressive.

I’m thinking, for God’s sake, just produce and ship the weapons and stop the political grandstanding or you’ll be sorry. Of course, the whole reason for this was the political grandstanding. No thoughts for the safety of the poor worker drones actually in the plants in question. Who cares if they’re killed? Actually, if they are killed it’s even more cause for grandstanding. Idiots! (Snorts and issues sell order on Swedish munitions companies.)
They had their stupid moments in the 70s. Prime minister Olof Palme was one of these.
You probably already know it, but for general information - he was assassinated in 1986 and the crime hasn’t been solved and will most likely remain unsolved forever.
