Baykar plans to produce not only drones, but also unmanned fighters in Ukraine
The Turkish company Baykar, in addition to the Bayraktar TB2 attack operational and tactical drones, also plans to produce Bayraktar Kizilelma unmanned fighters in Ukraine. They will be equipped with two types of Ukrainian engines.
This was stated by its general director Haluk Bayraktar in an interview with Taras Chmut, director of the Come Back Alive Foundation. According to him, this will actually be a new level in the arena of unmanned systems (to watch the video, scroll through the news to the end).
"Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akıncı are in mass production. We have handed over more than nine Bayraktar Akıncı units to the Turkish military. We also signed export contracts for it with various countries. At Bayraktar TB2, we have export contracts with 22 different countries. And now we are working on an unmanned fighter project, which is very new, and we are fully financing it," said the general director of the company from Turkey.
He noted that in the project of Akıncı and the Baykar unmanned fighter, he works very closely with Ukraine, because it is one of the few countries that has Technologies for engines. Taras Chmut and Haluk Bayraktar
"You have very good and efficient engines, and our close coordination and cooperation helps them take their place in the UAV market. Unmanned fighters will also be equipped with two types of Ukrainian engines," Bayraktar explained.
According to him, these are the main platforms that we are working on, while the company has some products on smaller platforms. We are talking about a mini-UAV, a platform with vertical take-off, and so on.
Last year, Ukraine and Turkey signed a memorandum on the deployment of joint production of Bayraktar and the establishment of a plant in Ukraine. Given the current security situation, Bayraktar assured, the company sees Ukraine as its strategic partner.
"We have long-term plans for projects with Ukraine. Baykar has started building a factory, Research Center and advanced manufacturing center where we want to produce all the systems. Not only the fuselage, but also electronics, software – everything we do here. Our investment plans are progressing now," the CEO stressed. Bayraktar kizilelma unmanned fighter jet
He specified that for these agreements, the parties are at the project planning stage. They also want to start making real investments soon. Baykar already has a company in Ukraine, a technical engineering team that works to support the country. Now the Turks want to make the Ukrainian state a production base.
"This is one of our ideals. The wish is that one day at the plant in Ukraine we will be able to create the Bayraktar TB2, Bayraktar Akinci, as well as the New Bayraktar Kizilelma – an unmanned fighter. Since the two platforms use Ukrainian engines, Ukraine will become the place where you make them, platforms and other subsystems in one country. We believe that this will be a very strategic achievement that will benefit both countries. It will also bring our relations to a much higher level," Bayraktar concluded.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the minister of defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov said that in the future Ukraine will have a plant for the production of Bayraktar TB2 UAVs, which have proven themselves well in the war against the Russian invaders. In addition, Kiev will receive dozens more drones as part of new orders.
Ukrainian ambassador to the Republic of Turkey Vasyl Bodnar said that the owner of Baykar has created his own company in Ukraine, and it has already purchased a land plot.

On top or below bombed out production sites?
The photo on the right is interesting, the shadow shows canards, but there are no canards on the bird.
Possibly a trick of light and shadow, or one hell of a stealth technology?
They are there. They are grey in color - zoom in.
AHA!!!! I mistook them for the shadow under the main wings!
Poor old tired eyes, monitor set on dim, typing in the dark, before coffee will do that sometimes.
Thanks.
Cool.
