Not to mention Lend Lease, which, by the way, was that ever repaid to us by Russia?

Here is a paragraph from the posted article: “The U.S. Defense Department believes that as many as 80,000 Russian troops have been killed or wounded since the Kremlin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine less than six months ago, a top Pentagon official told reporters today.” This is considerably more in six months than Vietnam cost the US in almost 20 years of conflict.

86,000 Vietnam casualties does not mean KILLED. It includes wounded and sick. Vietnam killed was in the 50,000s. I am sure at this point Russia probably has at least 150,000 casualties, if not more. A lot of Russias troops are recruited among non Slavic minorities, such as Asian Buryats. Wouldn’t want to pi$$ off the Slavic Russian body politic. If the number of dead grow too much they might question their Putin loyalty or ignorance.

Across the board, recipients of US Lend Lease deliveries in WWII were given very favorable repayment terms.

Large amounts were simply forgiven, others were “paid” by in kind payments, like rent credits for US bases on their territory (UK benefitted a lot from that). Those that did pay part of the total in cash, were allowed to do so over 50 years, with no interest. The Netherlands may have been the leader in actually paying the debt back.

By now, all the accounts under that WWII Program have been settled.

I’m not sure how the Soviets stacked up on repayment. They may have provided oil.

Yes, and 80,000 killed and wounded doesn't mean KILLED either.

Perhaps you missed the word "wounded" with regard to the Russian numbers.

I do wonder if the Russians have as much fragging as Vietnam.
