“The United States believes that Ukraine already has enough Western multiple launch rocket systems of the HIMARS type
Therefore, they will only supply ammunition to the remaining systems, the White House said.”

I believe they got 16 of the truck mounted HIMARS, and just a few of the tracked M-270 MLRS, or its MARS 2 variant - all of which fire the same rocket pods, interchangeably. About 20 launchers.

If they fire four loads per night (48 rockets), that would be about 1,500 rockets per month - a high rate. 20 launchers are probably enough to deliver that amount of ordnance, and still be able to play hide and seek with Russian counter-battery efforts.

I view it as an indication that there now enough operating to execute the counter-offensive Operational Plan that has been developed and agreed to. That deep strike capability is demonstrated to be working well.

The Ukrainians will likely be stressed/challenged more by other aspects of mounting a big counter-offensive over a lot of territory. So far, where Ukraine has gained significant territory, it has been where Russian forces chose to withdraw (Kiev, Chernihiv, Sumy). Conducting a big offensive against determined Russian resistance is not yet something that the Ukrainians have proven they can pull off. Driving Russian forces back out of Artillery range from Kharkiv City is probably their best such showing so far, on a small scale, in different terrain, and with almost no logistic lines of communication to maintain - operating right out of the second largest city, with rail and highway connections open.

It is going to be a new war in the South. Shaping operations (like those bridges) and suppression of air defense is already underway. Russia has redeployed most of its regular forces from the Donbas to the South. We will have to see how the new dynamic plays out in the South. The next major phase of the war.

American MLRS HIMARS cost Ukraine one million dollars per minute 10.07.2022 06:53

The propagandists of the Kyiv regime, who demand more HIMARS systems from the United States, are not aware that firing only one MLRS rocket costs Ukraine $150,000.

The captain of the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Gamuschin , in an interview with a Ukrainian TV channel, told how much military aid from the United States would cost the country.

He recalled that the American HIMARS missile system, which has been talked about so much lately, fires six missiles per minute, each of which will later have to pay 150 thousand dollars. It turns out that a minute volley of MLRS will cost Ukraine almost a million dollars.

“Ukrainian debts have never been so ‘quick-fired’,” Russian experts say ironically.

It is often forgotten in Nezalezhnaya that the United States does not help anyone for free. Any weapon delivered from across the ocean only increases Kyiv’s debt to Washington, and Ukrainian citizens will have to bear this burden.

Russia MOD: Long-range high-precision sea-based weapons struck a large ammunition depot near the village of Uman , Cherkasy region. More than three hundred rockets for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems were destroyed , as well as a large amount of ammunition for American M777 howitzers .

17 shells of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system were intercepted in the areas of the cities of Kherson, Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region and Melitopol , Zaporozhye region.

The Pentagon refused to send additional Himars MLRS to Ukraine

MLRS Himars will no longer be supplied to Ukraine.

Information on this subject was confirmed by Deputy Minister of Defense Colin Kahl. According to Kahl, at the moment, the supply of Himars MLRS to Ukraine has been stopped, since the Ukrainian military has a sufficient amount of these weapons.

US Deputy Secretary of Defense Colin Kahl noted that at the moment the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received at their disposal 16 Himars MLRS launchers, as well as three M270 MLRS launchers, while three more launchers will be transferred to Ukraine by the German side.

“Ukrainians are doing well with the number of systems and the priority right now is actually to ensure sustainable supply ,” said Colin Kahl.

The deputy head of the Pentagon did not comment on whether the refusal to supply Himars systems to Ukraine is a temporary phenomenon, or whether deliveries are not planned in the near future due to the lack of such weapons from the United States. However, experts draw attention to the fact that Kal did not confirm the previously announced information that three more M270 MLRS MLRS installations would be transferred by the Norwegian side.

A few hours ago, in Romania, about 85 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, a huge convoy of Himars MLRS was seen , which included at least 10 launchers.

The expert explained why the United States is stopping deliveries of HIMARS installations to Ukraine

There is a rational explanation for the US decision to suspend deliveries of the HIMARS MLRS to Ukraine, which was reported by a number of media outlets, military expert Ivan Konovalov said.

In his opinion, the enthusiasm of the Americans diminished due to the destruction by Russian troops of half of the HIMARS installations delivered to the Ukrainians. In addition, they are afraid that the systems will fall into the hands of the Russians or units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. Another reason for blocking the supply of MLRS could be the risk of a shortage of ammunition, Konovalov said.

“Those HIMARS, which are now in service with the Ukrainian forces, consume a fairly large amount of ammunition, but given that six of them have already been destroyed, so far the consumption is small. But Ukraine requires up to 100 units of these weapons. This is a very large amount of ammunition, and in the United States they understand that they will not be able to provide them and these installations will simply stand pointlessly, ”
- Channel Five quotes the expert.

According to Konovalov, HIMARS spend an average of three shells per day per installation. Accordingly, if 100 units of these systems are delivered to Ukraine, then the ammunition bill will go to tens of thousands.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, six of the 12 American MLRS HIMARS delivered to Ukraine were destroyed. Against this background, information appeared about the suspension of the US supply of systems to the Ukrainian armed forces. This, in particular, writes Avia.pro with reference to sources. According to the publication, until the end of August, the United States will not supply Ukraine with new multiple launch rocket systems.
