In graduate school I took advanced statistics courses. One of the methods applies to temperature, but I have never seen it used. Create a data base of temperatures for a century or more. Add the first ten years together and divide by ten. That gives the first number for a graph. Next drop the first number and pick up the eleventh. Add those together and divide by ten for the second number on the graph. Repeat for the century to see if there is a trend.

In that case, the old heat records will just be deleted from online access and then replaced with more correct heat records. Those old heat records are inconsistent with the SCIENCE. So they must be wrong.
