But insider accounts obtained by veteran war reporter DAVID PATRIKARAKOS expose unimaginable evil - and the awesome courage of the Ukrainian resistance
A cloud of thick smoke hangs over the occupied city of Kherson in Ukraine. Its very stench is evidence of Russian war crimes, on a scale almost too sickening to contemplate.
The smoke comes from mobile incinerators that are running night and day. Vladimir Putin's paranoid soldiers are burning the corpses of Ukrainian citizens tortured and murdered on suspicion of helping the resistance.
And they are dispatching the bodies of their own comrades too — hundreds of them. The Russians are killed by the constant pounding of Ukrainian shells from artillery placements surrounding the city and by highly organised, secret units of freedom fighters.
They are even killed by gangs of youths armed with knives who set upon drunken Russians and stab them.
The incinerators fill Kherson with the reek of charred flesh. There is no mistaking the smell and it adds to the pervasive sense of horror in this Black Sea port. It is a living hell.
A view of the destroyed Fabrika shopping mall in the city of Kherson I am in contact with pro-democracy activists inside the city who have managed — for the first time since the start of the occupation — to get information out, describing the situation as it deteriorates daily, so that the world can finally have some idea of their plight.
To identify my sources in any way would be to condemn them to certain death. All I can say is that this information is reliable and comes from Kherson residents fiercely opposed to Russian occupation, who are risking everything to reveal the truth.
They say many of the Russian troops are drunk all of the time.

Geeze. The State Department staffer who wrote this giant pile of steaming BS disinformation need to be sent back to the mail room.
Good lord.
“Meaningless because Russians have their own atrocities.”
...and as long as people don’t bitch about alleged Russian war crimes, I won’t bitch about other Ukrainian War Crimes, such as dropping tens of thousands of Butterfly Land Mines in residential areas of Donetsk. But I have to admit, these mines a great way to blow off the legs of enemy 5 year olds.

“Russians are notorious for looting, brutality, and rape, whether in Stalin’s day or the present.”
Good God. Please take your agenda elsewhere, Vindman.
“This person deserves a pulitzer prize for best propagandist.
I smell Hollywood writers and CIA anylists in on this one.”
It’s gotten so blatent, and easy to spot. They’ve already lost the support of most Americans for this crapfest. Must be getting desperate.
I disagree with you on the British Ukraine reporting. But as far as the Russian mobile incinerators in Kherson go -- photos and videos from the local's smart phones or it ain't happening. My bet is this reporter was never in Kherson to smell the stench in the air from these Rus crematoriums. He is sitting on his ass in Poland. Other items in his report seem true.
Good find.
Debunked!!!!
“But the accompanying video footage of a crematorium actually dates from 2013. It was posted by a Russian incinerator construction company and is not footage from the ground. “
“such as dropping tens of thousands of Butterfly Land Mines in residential areas of Donetsk.”
I saw the photos. Probably happened. Rus probably did not fake (as in arrange) those photos. And now that the Ukies have been shamed, it will not happen again.
“Other items in his report seem true.”
I wouldn’t be too sure. Are they still claiming that Ukraine is winning? How about Russia being out of ammunition in early March (or whenever back then)?
What they seem to be doing is parroting whatever Ukraine claims, without ever being skeptical, when it’s obvious to anyone that Ukrainian claims should never be taken at their word, given the situation they’re in.
Vindman.....lols
OK enough! :) for today. Meanwhile Slava Ukraini!
“And now that the Ukies have been shamed, it will not happen again.”
Have they...I hadn’t heard of that happening.
FYI, Ukraine was not supposed to even possess that weapon as they were banned by the Land Mine Treaty that they signed.
“OK enough! :) for today. Meanwhile Slava Ukraini!”
LOL, get some sleep!
Russia as a culture and society is incredibly susceptible to being run by gangs of opportunistic predators. The defenses against such is incredibly weak there. Their ethos, such as it is, spreads out into the population. It turns into a society-wide psychopathy.
Indoor Plumbing Still a Pipe Dream for 20% of Russian Households, Reports Say.
Ukrainians accused Russia of dropping PFM-1 butterfly mines to block civilian evacuation routes back in March.
