Good article. But it’s not the ROOT cause.

The ROOT cause is the spiritual decline of the Christian church in America. The “salt has lost its savor” and no longer stands a moral lampstand to the nation as it once did. It is either thoroughly worldly - no different that unbelievers - or thoroughly consumed with itself and its own interests rather than being a powerful, living witness for Christ in word and deed. In general, it knows nothing of prayer and intercession for our nation.

As I’ve noted here many times, my mother was a typist for the FBI in WWII and typed everything that has been happening as communist plans since the 1930’s, and it’s all come about as they planned as “conservatives” are passive and Christians look, act and think no differently than the world.

When did this weakness and decline in the church start? Wow. Way back.

It’s easy to equate woke ideology with moral depravity when we use traditional standards as our yardstick. What may not be so apparent is that wokism is little more than an extreme version of modern European thought. The result is that woke progressives can find comfort in believing that the problem is not that they are degenerates but that we are primitives, backwards, atavistic.

In their minds, they represent an evolutionary leap, the future of mankind which is ironic and baffling because by embracing abortion and sodomy, they become a dead end for reproduction and hence survival of the species.

That is completely untrue and it makes me wonder about the author.

The Constitution gives the Senate two and only two punishments it can impose on an impeached individual. The first is removal from office.

The second is barring any future service in office.

Had Trump been convicted by the Senate, it is certain that they would have imposed that punishment, which is not derived from Amendment XIV but from the impeachment clauses in the actual Constitution.
