All thanks to the aquatic part of the carbon dioxide cycle. CO2 in the atmosphere is washed into the sea through rain. CO2 is dissolved in sea water and is combined with calcium by corals and sea organism to make Calcium carbonate, the indispensable chemical of reef communities.

More dissolved CO2 means reefs will grow.

Are they still using divers with poison injecting rods to kill the crown-of-thorns starfish? The videos I found they were just using tongs to bag them.

Yes it does! It’s amazing. I didn’t know either until I went.

It was, especially for me. When I was a young boy, my parents indulged my fascination with sea life by allowing me to have seven different and very large fish tanks. Four were salt water, one was a 50+ gallon tank with blue tang in it.

My personal hero at that time was Jacques Cousteau, and I used to watch all his PBS specials. That should tell you how old I am. LOL!

Were it not for my longtime GF, I'd have never taken an interest in diving and skiing. That trip to Honduras, Belize, Cancun and Mexico we took in 2019 was absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to do it again.

I know, right? I had no idea until we were in Roatan, Honduras. It was the experience of a lifetime, at least until we got to Belize and I snorkled with these amazing Sea Turtles!

Honest to God, I don't know which was better, Roatan, Honduras or Belize! All I know is, we're going again in December and I cannot wait!
