Chinese Military Maneuvers Around Taiwan Threaten Global Supply Chains

(Translation)

China's military maneuvers surrounding the busy commercial routes around Taiwan threaten global supply chains that were already compromised by the COVID pandemic and war in Ukraine.

According to the information, these exercises around the island, the most important in China's history, are a response to the visit United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi paid to Taiwan.

The maneuvers touch points along the most-traveled and crucially-important commercial routes on the planet, since they connect semiconductor and electronics factories in East Asia to the world and are also used to transport natural gas, AFP [Agence France-Presse] reported.

During the first seven months of the year, almost half of the world's container ships passed through the Strait of Taiwan, according to compiled data.

Management just had to put everything into one part of the world.

No diversification.

Everything had to be dependent on one place. Now it’s all falling apart.

“But the experts said...”

[Flight arrivals into Taipei from Beijing, SFO etc just as usual. Beijing allowed its Global Times to declare Taiwan blockaded but remains prudent.

From an on-line group of ex Intel officials: “The incidents are the latest developments in Beijing’s pressure campaign against Taipei, and what some say is a temporary blockade, to protest Pelosi’s visit”. “some say” indeed. No blockade: ships & flights as usual. Why disinform ?]

Pearl-clutching aside, this is more bark than bite. The subtext? Ed Luttwak seems fairly convinced that unlike the Ukraine situation, Biden will intervene directly over Taiwan, if China attempts a blockade. As a former Reagan administration official, he’s pretty plugged into the Deep State.

We used to call this the Sea Gull management system.
Like a flock of sea gulls, management flies to a project, craps all over the place, departs, and expects someone else to clean up the mess.

Enter Nancy the Sea Gull.

China and the CCP didn’t even know Formosa existed until 1948.

Pelosi doesn’t care - she got her moment and is at the DMZ creating further havoc.....that’s what she does - with a smile and a nod as none of it’s any skin off her nose.

If China blockades Taiwan and the USN attempts to run the blockade, we will lose an aircraft carrier and the jig for all of us will be up. WWIII will be for aircraft carriers what the Civil War was to wooden ships and WWII was for the battleship.

Looks like semi conductor prices will rise dramatically so Pauli P can profit before the second crime family retires this November.

True, china did not care anything about Taiwan until the chinese government and army fled to Taiwan to escape the communists in 53. This made the communists lose Face.

The world as it has existed since Nixon went to China is dead and gone. China will become more insular. They will stop all contact with the West, which the CCP views as dangerous to social stability. (Read dangerous to the CCP.) All that stuff we bought from China will be interrupted at will by the CCP. There’s no going back.

The US will either return to manufacturing here, near-shore to Mexico or South America, or get it from Vietnam or some other friendly power. But I suspect the five hundred billion worth of goods we bought from China each ear before Covid will drop precipitously.

China is going to collapse in on itself. Like a drowning man, they may take a lot of people with them because of the wars that may break out as they fall apart. (The Taiwan idiocy is all about focusing the people on an outside threat; something that isn’t the CCP.)

Taiwan had been a Japanese colony for 50 years before it was given back to China after World War II.

Look, the world might fall into a depression that will last for years...

we could walk into a hot war...

but hey, it was worth it for Nancy to 'get the vote out' back home - and change the subject from her drunken womanizing husband.

Right? Isn't that what matters?

Even World War II exposed the vulnerability of aircraft carriers. The U.S. had its share of losses to Japan, and vice versa.
