Korea's trade chief calls for close communication channels with China

Korea's Trade Minister Ahn Duk-geun called Wednesday for the establishment of close communication channels with the Chinese government and civilian entities to boost bilateral trade and investment.

Ahn made the remarks during a meeting with experts in Seoul as Korea is seeking to strengthen economic relations with China on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

"It is crucial to create environments where Korean and Chinese companies continue trade and investment in a stable manner amid growing external uncertainties," Ahn said.

"For the goal, the two nations' trade authorities need to set up close communication channels involving civilian and state entities. It is also important to make the most of the bilateral free trade agreement for enhanced cooperation," he added.

I just spent a couple of weeks in Korea...being shown around the country by my girlfriend,a Korean American who's spending the summer there to help take care of her sick mother.

Having been prepared for the tour by doing a lot of reading about Korean history...the oppression she's endured at the hands of larger,more powerful neighbors (Japan,Russia,China)...one of our stops was the DMZ.

All I could think of while there was that if someone had put a bullet in Mao Tse Tung's head in 1945 things would be a lot different there...a lot *better*.

IMO South Korea should see The Butchers of Bejing for what they are...psychopathic aggressors who would love nothing better than to control *all* of Korea,not just the northern part.
