AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Fighting back tears and finally given the chance to confront conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, the parents of a 6-year-old killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting described being put through a “living hell” of death threats, harassment and ongoing trauma over the last decade caused by Jones using his media platforms to push claims that it was all a hoax.
The parents led a day of charged testimony that included the judge scolding the bombastic Jones for not being truthful with some of what he said under oath.
Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis, whose son Jesse was killed at Sandy Hook, took the witness stand Tuesday on the final day of testimony in the two-week defamation damages trial against Jones and his media company Free Speech Systems. They are seeking at least $150 million in damages.
In a gripping exchange, Lewis spoke directly to Jones, who was sitting about 10 feet away. Earlier that day, Jones was on his broadcast program telling his audience that Heslin is “slow” and being manipulated by bad people.
“I am a mother first and foremost and I know you are a father. My son existed,” Lewis said to Jones. “I am not deep state... I know you know that... And yet you’re going to leave this courthouse and say it again on your show.”
At one point, Lewis asked Jones: “Do you think I’m an actor?”
“No, I don’t think you’re an actor,” Jones responded before the judge admonished him to be quiet until called to testify.
Lewis continued trying to impress on Jones that the Sandy Hook shooting and trauma inflicted in the decade since then were real.

I think AJ was right on this.
Flame on.
Which really means they want money.
That’s controversial even for FR.
But, you’re a free thinker and have a First Amendment right as does Alex Jones in my opinion.
No 1st Amendment for Alex. Say something bad or mean and we will bankrupt you.
Bankrupt him !
All I remember VIVIDLY back then was this actual video broadcast on CNN where one of the parents WAS laughing and joking in the back area, then comes the camera and starts crying. He was introduced as one of the parents whos “daughter” dies in the “shooting”. It eventually made it to Youtube where it was removed. I think the guy’s name was Robbie Parker.
Just saying..
I agree. A father doesn’t laugh, then turn sad as soon as the cameras are on him. The live feed showed the same people just wandering around in circles. Go in one door, come out another. Rinse and repeat a dozen times.
The defamation stuff didn’t work for Nick Sandmann, it shouldn’t work here. (But it will). RATS always win in court. ALWAYS!!!
A living hell... which will be assuaged by some money.
Funny how they hate Alex Jones for raising questions more than they do Adam Lanza who did the shootings, or the doctors and Big Pharma who put him on Ritalin (or whatever his ADDHD drug was) that mad him go crazy.
Yup. Just like a crisis actor, he also pretended to be a president.
And what about that video of someone running off into the woods?
That was completely obvious from the shot ABOVE the building. None of the people going around and around, in and out of doors, showed the slightest trace of grief or fear.
But if the overhead shot had been shown from ground-level, it would have looked like all kinds of action was going on down on the ground.
I'm not an Alex Jones person. I've never listened to him, in fact. This is just something I noticed directly following the "event."
I know FRiend and it wasn’t expressed flippantly.
“A living hell... which will be assuaged by some money.”
Was just about to post this. Interesting how that works.
And, a few million dollars will probably make them feel better.
Isn’t it amazing that Alex Jones can be sued for his opinion and the matter go to trial, while all the accusations against Trump were just people expressing their opinions according to their First Amendment rights. Remember opinions such as those of Rachel Maddow’s were for “entertainment” and needed no proof at all, since the court said so?
Maybe Alex Jones’ opinions and his shows were for “entertainment” only.
He has morons in his audience that believe it was staged, then they harassed the families.
I believe AJ. False flag.
