Some family history then. Can't vouch for accuracy but it sounds pretty much like other Wm Morgan stories, better sounding than most.

IIRC he was definitely Anti-Masonic in the 1820’s which fits the time frame of the Morgan kidnapping. My suspicion is he was a ‘former’ Mason like so many of the leaders of the AMP were.
When I get more time I’ll go through some of my family records, which are quite extensive.(Its worth a try)
This group came to North America in 1638 and owned a lot of real estate & businesses in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri.
My great grandfather(1882-1966) jumped from Missouri to Idaho before moving to Oregon. Which is one of the reasons I’m currently living in Oregon as I write this.
