Water vapor from this eruption can deplete the ozone layer? How much water vapor is caused by the Sun evaporating the oceans every day?

The volcano affected the stratosphere, the oceans put water vapor in the troposphere. Don't know how water vapor depletes stratospheric ozone but that's what they are alleging.

But it’s an underwater volcano. How does anything get to the stratosphere once it breaches the ocean surface unless it’s already lighter than air?
