NANCY: So, this is it? I am really dead this time?
DEVIL: (in appearance, a handsome man dressed in an expensive suit) Yep. 'Fraid so.
NANCY: Oh! Well, is it far to The Pearly Gates?
DEVIL: Uh, yeaaaah.
NANCY: (face turns even whiter, catches her breath) You mean...
DEVIL: Yes. You're in Hell, Nancy.
NANCY: Oh no! So, I am going to have to see the spirits of all the unborn babies for eternity then?
DEVIL: (congenially) Well, no. Hell doesn't work that way. (looks at her suddenly) But if that is what you prefer...
NANCY: No! No, no....well, what is it like down here then?
DEVIL: Our philosophy is that Hell should be as much like your life in as many ways as possible with a few twists. I mean, we can't have it exactly like your real life could we? What would be the point?
NANCY: Oh. What...what is it like.
DEVIL: We think work is important, so you are going to have a "job". More on that later.
NANCY: Will I be rich and famous in hell too?
DEVIL: Of course. EVERYONE will know you down here. And you will have money, though...it doesn't have the buying power it did in your real life.
NANCY: Will people still love me?
DEVIL: (indulgently) Yes. People will genuinely love you just as they did in your real life.
NANCY: How delightful!
DEVIL: Ummm...yeah. Hey, here comes your limo. You did take a limo every day, right?
NANCY: Oh, yes! I loved driving up every day, people peering into the car and wondering who was inside...
DEVIL: Mmmm. They will still be doing that. Like I said, we try to keep things as similar as we can with a few twists.
NANCY: Oh goody! (gets into car herself without waiting for the driver to open the door as she usually does) Driver! Do you know where I need to go? And by the way, I love this car. What kind of car is this? I have never seen one like it!
TED KENNEDY: (Turns to face her, face grinning, reeking of Chivas Regal, red veins standing out prominently on his nose) Hi Nan. So, I see they got you down here too! Isha lotta fun! Thish is a classic 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88...painted black so it looksh like a limo! Let's go have shum fun down at the beeaaash...I'll drive careeee-ful...they got this bridge...(trails off)
NANCY: (click of all four doors auto-locking) Oh! Er...
(Later that morning)
WOMAN IN CROWD: (Crowd, gathers excitedly around the car, submerged in pond upside down) Oh, look! A limousine! I wonder who is inside?
