BEIJING, August 1. /TASS/. Chinese authorities will take effective power measures if Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi visits Taiwan, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian said on Monday.
“If Pelosi visits Taiwan, this will be a gross interference in China’s domestic policy <…> and will lead to very serious consequences,” he stressed at a briefing. “The Chinese People’s Liberation Army won’t sit back and do nothing,” he added.
According to the diplomat, Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan would destabilize the situation in the Taiwan Strait and deal a blow to China-US relations. “China will definitely take resolute and effective countermeasures,” he specified.
I would not totally discount this. Not knowing who’s controlling the White House and CIA, I’d also be very concerned about a friendly fire, false flag incident. This regime absolutely loves the false flag ruse.
With this statement, China gave themselves an EASY out: “Last Friday, Chinese state media said the government was prepared to shoot Pelosi’s plane down if it was detected in its airspace accompanied by a fighter jet escort.”
Nanzi’s Broom and/or escorts will not enter Chinese airspace, thus no reason for China to blow it out of the sky.
