Reps. Peter Meijer, Jaime Herrera Beutler and Dan Newhouse have not grabbed the same type of headlines that other Republicans who voted to impeach President Donald Trump in January 2021.
The Republican trio have remained steadfast in support of their votes against Trump but have otherwise mostly kept their heads down and tried to work hard on issues they have long focused on.
Meijer, an Army intelligence officer in the Iraq War from Michigan, has been a major critic of the Biden administration’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Herrera Beutler, from a massive rural district in southwestern Washington, just got a bill passed to transfer land from the U.S. Forest Service to a local county government.
And Friday, Newhouse took to the House floor to speak out against Democratic legislation as “bureaucratic red tape” that would fail to combat wildfires, a perennial issue in his vast district in eastern Washington.
On Tuesday, all three will learn their political fate with Republican voters back home, helping determine if there was ever a path to victory for a Republican who so directly rebuked Trump. And it will go a long way to determining whether there will be one, two or more pro-impeachment Republicans left when the new Congress is sworn in next January.
“I think we’ve got some very good members of Congress we’re talking about here. It would be a shame to see them not return, because they contribute a lot, are very productive and, I think, represent their districts very well,” Newhouse said in a brief interview after his Friday floor speech. “It’s important to have all opinions represented in any discussion,” he added.

That's 6 out of ten.
If these three go down on Tuesday, that'll leave David Valadao of CA as the only remaining impeacher (and he might lose to the Democrat in November).
A fitting end to the traitorous ten.
Thanks. Human garbage.
You gambled and list like Biden does 3x a day.
Lost!
“I think we’ve got some very good members of Congress we’re talking about here.”
When things mattered, they dropped the ball.
Or rather, pitched it to the other team.
Meijer can go and be a bag boy for his family’s supermarkets. Meijer, according to a friend from Michigan, is the Publix of Michigan. Never been there, but could someone inform me on them?
He can go work for the horse looking tranny with big cans who runs that tundra.
very good giant stores
Tell that to the January 6 political prisoners.
Yeah. Wash post thinks they’re good. That’s it for me.
Correct.
Meijer is LYING scum. Voted for his opponent.
"It doesn't matter if Trump supporters represent more than half the Electorate, Trump voters are unfortunately ignorant, they've been duped. Frankly, Trump supporters are idiots, but we can't say that out loud because we use the Republican Party as our vehicle to take power."
"Washington DC is where the sausage is made and it's not pretty. We had to impeach Trump in order to gain Democrat support to pass bills our constituents need, whether they want it or not."
"Voters don't know what they are doing; it's up to us to get them what they need. That's why we are chosen to be their leaders. And no, we do not support conspiracy theories that the machines rig elections. Let the machines stay where they are. We like the machines."
"Washington DC is where politics is settled through compromise. To be practical, we compromise with the other side, and they in turn compromise us."
Mark Twain (1835-1910):
“Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.”
“Fleas can be taught nearly anything that a Congressman can.”
“There is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.”
“All Congresses and Parliaments have a kindly feeling for idiots, and a compassion for them, on account of personal experience and heredity.”
Meijer is toast, so add him to the list. Gibbs *should* beat him easily but he has a very tough road ahead of him after that. That district has a VERY well-funded liberal Democrat, while Gibbs has no money at all and won’t be getting much (if any) from the RNC after he ousts one of their pet RINOs, and redistricting moved this already marginal district further to the left.
The two Washington state traitors will survive at least until November; no way either one finishes as low as 3rd in their jungle primaries on Tuesday, which is what would have to happen for them NOT to advance.
Sadly, they will both be favored to win (and probably WILL win) in November as well.

Newhouse was taken to the hospital immediately after giving his self-congratulatory speech. Rumor has it, he dislocated his shoulder while patting himself on the back so vigorously.
I think Newhouse is going down. Joe Kent has the lead in Washington 3rd, but Kevin McCarthy’s PAC is spending 26 million trying to save Beutler’s ass. I pray Joe Kent prevails, a solid vote to remove McCarthy from leadership.
I keep thinking of Clint Didier’s futile runs against Newsome from the right, granted that was before Newhouse revealed himself for what he really is. The first time around Didier actually had some money to spend, too (not so much the second time).
It’s probably fashionable now to say Didier was simply not a good candidate, but Newhouse always has a ton of $$$ — even now he has WAY more than Culp or anyone else — and he has the Democrat/RINO vote sewed up, which is significant when no Democrat makes the November ballot. CD-4 is surely a “Republican” district but it can’t be said that conservatives outnumber RINOs + Democrats, and that’s what saves Newhouse’s ass. Hopefully this year is different.
I hope Kent really is leading in CD-3 because by now we’ve all heard about the behind-the-scenes GOP establishment support/dirty trick in favor the OTHER challenger (St. John) to try to eliminate Kent in August so that it becomes a win-win for the liberal establishment in November with two squishes on the ballot and zero conservatives.
