Pelosi has no official duties that would take her to Taiwan. The Chinese have been pretty relaxed about Trump people going there in the very recent past. They would have a lot to lose in a military confrontation with the US. Ditto us vs them. Do the Chinese know about something the Deep State is doing in Taiwan? Have they just been emboldened by our Afghanistan humiliation and our current enmeshment in the Ukraine mess? Does the Deep State want war with China? Why else would they be shipping their Speaker of the House into danger on a 21st century Lusitania?

China would invade, but it would not be a large cross-strait landing. It would be the insertion of special ops units for clandestine action, sabotage and mayhem. They may stay there as a headache for the Taiwanese, or be extricated once they’ve done what they had set out to do. Then, China would initiate a full air and sea blockade, and wait for nature to take its course.

I think Nancy will go to Taiwan, after all she’s got way too much invested in it and after all she’s the girl who no priest can say no communion too. But I’ll bet what she does is show upstairs in the dead of night all stealthy flown in on some private aircraft with a photo op and then come back here and basically stick her tongue out at the Chinese
If the US were smart, which we are not we would start a brain drain out of Taiwan.
