I assume Senegal was like most places in the world with regard to homosexuality - its not accepted, but people overall won’t pry into one’s private life, and can’t be bothered to persecute homosexuals actively.
But activist globohomo as a political movement made sure to rub everyone’s face in it. And especially in the 3rd world, its a new form of EU and Western imperialism.
So of course, there will be reactions against it.
In other countries where resources are slim...spreading disease and physical harm to others is not tolerated.
