“China will be the next empire.... I am tired if (sic) empire building and trying to rule the world.”
So, you’d rather China be the dominant “empire?” They are communists, you know. But, perhaps you are okay with that. You call for putting our own house in order, and with that I agree. However, do you really want the US to be subservient and under the thumb of China? Because, even if we “get our own house in order,” without our supremacy we are at the mercy of the ChiComs. That is not a future I would look forward to.
Sea Powers (Britain, US, Athens) tend to be socially liberal; Land Powers (Russia, Prussia, Sparta, China?) tend to be reactionary & authoritarian. If China had a couple hundred years of seaborne trade to draw upon the world might have a peaceful transition like we had between Britain & the US over the course of WW2. But I suspect we don’t have that kind of time.
Nobody is talking about subservient.
