Trump Hails Nevada Crime-Fighting Candidates Lombardo, Laxalt

Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, running for governor of the state, and GOP Sen.-nominee Adam Laxalt — both endorsed by Trump — were hailed as America First Republicans who can help restore law and order amid a raging "crime wave" under Democrat rule and President Joe Biden.

"But, remember none of this will happen if we do not get America First Republicans elected to office," Trump told the crowd at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Laxalt is running to flip the seat of Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., who Trump rebuked as an "open borders fanatic."

"Right here in Nevada, you have to vote out two radical Democrat extremists who have a catastrophe for public safety and for your state — a catastrophe," Trump said, referring also to Lombardo's incumbent opponent Democrat Gov. Steve Sisolak. "Your far-left governor, he was the head of the Democrat party [sic]. Now he's governor. Guess what: You think he cheats on elections?

"No, really, Steve Sisolak has signed a weak — think of this — literally signed one weak-on-crime bill after another. One after another, letting burglars and career criminals avoid jail time, releasing them on the streets, slashing penalties for drug dealers and human traffickers, blocking police from arresting criminals for misdemeanor offenses, gutting bail requirements, and much, much more.

Trump called Lombardo a "true American patriot" who should replace Nevada's "radical-left governor."

I gotta tell you I was very concerned about 2024 and from the start did NOT want Pence in there like Bush was after Reagan.

Maybe Trump being able to run and win in 2024 may turn out to be the ideal scenario.

I’m always thinking ahead and am concerned about the 2028 election, not that far away.

Is DeSantis too politicized like Cruz, or is he the real deal to carry the torch of liberty against the vicious onslaught of the vile Left?

I don’t know how anyone could even match Trump’s anti-Left-flame shield and energy while tirelessly working for us, the America People.

2028 remains question to me.

How about boots on the ground about crime here?

2 weeks ago last night—Wed the 13th-—my neighbor across the street had his fence vandalized.

Not an expensive fence: square upright posts—about 3 feet tall above the sandy ground-—short wire field fence with square holes-—and top rails that dressed it all off & held it together. But lumber is sky high.

We live on a corner—Paved road for main driveway—and gravel road for side driveways-—each of us. Fair amount of traffic as many have moved here to work at Tesla-—23 miles away.

I go to get mail about noon & see that the CORNER 3 or 4 top rails are GONE. NO VEHICLE tracks-—not an accident-—FOOTPRINTS-—screws missing—all but one out of about 8-10 total. Wood torn loose & GONE.

21 year old 2 X 4’s—only useful for when they were fence top rail & possible for firewood. Not structurally sound for any type of other construction.

My neighbor is totally flummoxed——WHY? He is 82-—same as I—and he lives on Soc Sec-—same as I-—not much room for extra expenses.

He doesn’t wish to “bother” the county deputies-—but I insist. IF the deputies do NOT know there is such vandalism-—they cannot be on the lookout. He finally agrees to call & they are there within 20 minutes—quick for rural N Nevada. They are just as puzzled as we are-—and they do take all the information & write a report. They don’t like the looks of it all, either. We don’t need such activity

His fences go north 630 feet-—they could have stolen 2 times the boards at that end & he NEVER would have seen it before next year when whacking thistles.

I help him take measurements & repair the fence-—Takes 2 mornings & about 5 hours because it has been 100 + for over 3 weeks, plus smoke from Yosemite fires. Between the 2 of us, we get it done & he puts in about 18 screws to keep it in place & stop further vandalism.

Meanwhile—I am worried about MY property—directly across & on the same corner. Different style of fencing-—for my horses—Hot wire, etc. BUT if cut with a side cutter, hard to repair & I could have horse out into traffic.

Plain stupid VANDALISM.....and it hit 102 already today. About 1% humidity.

WE do have very good deputies here in LYON County, tho.
