Can you point me to a reliable source that supports that scenario.
Taiwan is an island fortress that has been preparing for this for 70 years. The Straits aren’t like crossing a river; it is many miles of open ocean.
I’ve read a lot of stuff about this. No one from a professional or even high level amateur source has suggested that China has the tools to accomplish an invasion—let alone occupation of the island.
And none of this occurs in a vacuum. The US, Korea, and Japan all have valid national interests on Taiwan.
I would be sincerely interested in reading something along those lines.
Where’s the printout of their talk??? V
Good question.
Biden’s reply: “…say, how do you guys eat ice cream over here… with chopsticks?..”
That one was GREAT!
Its my own assessment that is essentially based on the numbers you can find on the internet.
One remark you made stands out- this doesn’t occur in a vacuum. The whole world that uses chips produced in Taiwan has an interest in the outcome and most nations that the US is allied to will jump into the fight. China can’t win once the US is involved, but the damage to the infrastructure and chip foundries in Taiwan will be significant.
I think with all the sabre rattling china has been doing over Taiwan, many of the chip producers are rethinking their locations there and building elsewhere, such as nVidia in Arizona and intel in Ohio.
Point is, Taiwan cannot hope to win against China by itself, but the reality is that Taiwan is never going to be alone in such a fight.
