Moscow has long practiced giving out Russian passports to all comers in territories that they want to conquer and occupy. After doing so then they use the pretext of “Protecting Russian Citizens” as their justification for aggression.
The proper response in every one of Russia’s neighboring states is that once a Russian passport holder is identified then that person must be immediately deported to Russia. And any Russian representatives caught handing out Russian passports should be immediately arrested as a hostile foreign agent. If they don’t have diplomatic cover then prison or execution would be in order.
Now that is an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.
If you were in one of these regions the Russians have "occupied" would you accept a Russian passport? No one that views the Russians as occupiers would. Only those the view the Russians as liberators would.
What you refuse to accept is that that majority DO believe the Russians are liberators. Why wouldn't ethnic Russians feel that way? There some that just want peace and don't care who governs. But, there is very little resistance in the parts of Ukraine to the Russian taking over.
But, you refuse to accept reality. Or you're just shamelessly lying.
